Probly not! Got a renter in SLC in '11... told us "okay, just don't go off-road".
Got EASILY 25++lbs off at a car wash 1/2 way back to the city. I promise to return sodium to the Flats next time. (This was after the "rinse" leaving the Salt)

  2. listening now, fingers crossed for a qualifying speed!

The real definition of Rent-a-Racer. Its been done frequently in drag racing and some road course events too.
I doubt that one is anything more than a support vehicle though, given all the tech stuff it would need to race.

It would go as a modified but would run in the class for the engine.
Most guys buy a rule book and sit down and start figuring what class they might possibly be competitive in and then figure out the engine/body combo to make it happen.

  7. so cool to see John's name listed on the results for yesterday!

yeah, not really looking to run just doing the mental racing. it's what I do at night instead of counting sheep. sometimes I think it keeps me awake lol.

didnt realize putting a different year motor in would constitute "modified" lets take this truck for example. he's running an XO engine which in this case is an OHV inline 6 prior to 1960. but the truck is a unibody f100 which came out in 1961. I just assumed it would need to be a pre-1960 truck to run XO/PP if that was a requirement.

  16. 116+ through 2nd mile

I guess he has to get to 125 in 2 miles before they can time in 3 miles?!?!

At a 5 mph increase per run, 3 more runs they’ll be right at record.

That doesn’t sound right, but I don’t understand why they can’t get through the 3rd mile.

  18. Creeping up on that record, sir!!! What do you have up your sleeve for the next run?!?!

Keep at it John!.... Can you answer why you haven't been able to run thru 3 mile yet?..... Trying to get up to speed with that wide ratio two speed in 2 miles is going to be hard.

Record looks to be (and it was probably mentioned pages back) 131.570 set in 2002. Just need 14.574 to match it. AA bit more to qualify.

Definitely gettin' after it. They are probably working too hard to post what they are doing, so we all will have to be patient. This is like your favorite Sat. morning show, come back for the next exciting adventure of the Va. HAMB Special brought to you by...................

  24. They did not change the rear gear before the last run of 116.996. Only made adjustments to the tune. Plugs and jets.
