Dan, you're giving away all the team's speed secrets!
Now, every wienel drive gear from Wendover to Salt Lake city will be sold out and you wouldn't be able to get a spare if the primary drifts out of confluance.

I had a thought this morning...... you have been towing the truck all over the salt without the motor running and the transmission in neutral. Not a good thing to do with an a/t . This could have lead to the demise of the rear bushing. When the motor isn't running, nothing inside of the trans is getting lube. You could possibly end up with more problems. I don't know if you are shifting the trans to neutral and killing the motor after a pass... if you are... let the motor idle until stopped.

Still wondering if there is a required speed for license issue before moving to longer course…. Anybody???... I know with certain license’s for drag racing in old days you had to run within 10 % of class record (fuel license), wondering if something like that applied here.

If you go to the SCTA-BNI web site all of that info and rules are there.

I did that and looked through all stuff concerning rookies but found nothing about required speed. Wondering since they have made two runs on rookie course (one decent within 20 % class record), why license hasn’t been issued allowing them to get on longer course.

  21. @old flopper I think they have to run 130+ to move to the next course....

    ....anyone else?

From searching it a number of times over the years, they aren't. Some basic rules like filling out the paperwork for your rookie card and the drivers medical form but for the rest of it you have to buy the rule book every year.

  24. Read where rookies need to go more than 125 but less than 150.

The rookie course is pretty much open as far as wait time an until they get it all dialed in they may have decided to stay on it. The second course is going to have the longest wait times.

There is no minimum speed, only a maximum of 150. If they turned out or didn't drive under full power thru the end of the course it isn't a full run so it doesn't count. (there are some classes that the records are well under 100)
Any number of didn't dot their I's or cross their T's could have made it a non qua;ifying run.

I read all of that on the SCTA-BNI web site.
