  8. Old paintjob was gorgeous, I would not have changed it.
But then I never liked pink cars.

What’s good citizens of Kustomsville... So indeed, “Sunsation” has been put under the gun, the paint gun that is. I meant to post pics earlier, but happen to be gone a few weeks. Jeff Spence at Kustoms by Spence has done a phenomenal Pink Fade on her and is looking really nice. Slowly but sure we’re getting her ready for Santa Maria West Coast Kustoms, later this month of May in Santa Maria, Ca. Thanks to the member who posted the pics of her in her new Pink version as “Sex Panther” (60% of the time, it works everytime)... With that said this is only a temporary paint job for the summer months, until we get her down to bare metal and do bodywork to make her straight and get her onto final paint. Stay tuned for more... Below I’ll leave the original pics again from other angles as well as the painted dash... Stay tuned and remember to Keep it Kustom and Keep it Humble... HFFH

Yes it needs several coats of clear gloss to bring up the depth.

@El Capo there is an OT vehicle my way with a similar paint treatment and I must say every time you look at it it has morphed into another hue...It is very animated. I see your ride doing it too. Looks awesome...that is one beautiful custom...Really enjoying the journey...

So Santa Maria West Coast Kustoms Cruisin’ Nationals 2018 came and went... As I promised to myself, I’d get “Sunsation” down to the show... It was an intense two weeks of hard elbow grease work, trying to get her all dialed in for the show, removing all gold color paint off her, polishing, wheel and tire changes, mechanical things here and there, getting the interior sarapes and what not. In the end there was a comprimise made, she’d make it to the show unfinished, traliered and no glass, yet under her own power. The glass situation is still lingering and hasn’t happened due to a complication out of my control. In any case she cruised, had a couple hic-ups, but needless to say she looked good, had a lot of great comments with a few not so good ones and also got her 15 seconds of fame on TV and on the Local paper... stay tuned for more of this build’s road to Kustomsville... Keep it humble and keep it kustom!!! HFFH

Thank you to all who paid her compliments, respects and took those awesome pictures of her!!!

I've always loved this model in the hardtop coupe. The chop is the nuts!
Your custom work is superb....congrats on a truly unique car!
Can't say that I agree with your color choice, tho.
Might be too hard to live with for me.....

So it’s been a while since I’ve posted any updates on “Sunsation”. However, since Santa Maria WCK Cruisin’ nationals, plenty has taken place. For one I’ve been putting miles on her to break the engine in, somehwere in the neighborhood of 150 miles maybe have been put on her. Was able to workout several bugs, including fine tuning the transmission. Hopefully the glass will finally be done in the next couple weeks. There was a situation out of everyone’s control which prevented thia abou a month ago, in July so August seems to be when it happens. Sadly due to time constraints it will most likely not make it to Ventura Nationals, but we’ll see. In any case, here are some pics of her driving as is with no glass or “driving super dirty” lol... I’ll post any updates as they come along, meanwhile; Keep it Humble and Keept it Kustom... Photo credits to: Customikes and Sherm Porter. If you get a chance go on Instagram and give a follow to @saulcaves & @sjvintage for more on the progress...
