Wow, the interior shots of the Ranchero and Plymouth above are like an orgasm for one's eyeballs. Too often, I concentrate on the visual proportions of the body mods, making the profile right ... but man, a full on custom interior puts a great looking kustom on the top of the heap. Hats off to Paul Mathis. Nailed it!

later toured ISCA shows as the candy dandy, had a beautiful candy red paint job. Wonder where it is now?

 

"El Sirocco" was sold at BJ Auction in 2005, and is in an extensive private collection, which also includes the Dave Cunningham 1940 Ford (Purchased in 2004, also at BJ).

Bob McNulty's 1955 Corvette, "the Shark", is another great custom that still exists.



McNulty converted it into a PU in 1964.
It was recently sold by the Peterson Museum on E-BAY.
Note that the hood and side cove panels are custom made of aluminum.
(You can't louver 'glass!)

I am lovin that 58 Pontiac! I have had a thing for them ever since my uncle had a 58 Chieftain HT with Tri-Power when I was a kid. He saved the 370 engine and transmission when the car rusted away and it now lives in my 54 Olds sedan That reminds me, I need to uncover that sucker and get it back on the "finish" list.

I wish they would bring the KKOA back to Ohio again. I can't travel that far from home anymore. Never missed one when it was in Springfield or Lancaster Ohio!!
