I’ve wanted a Roadster forever and while browsing the Facebook ads the other night I noticed an old picture of a Roadster and clicked on it, long story short I made the 2 1/2 hr drive early the next morning and snagged it. The gentleman’s father bought the car back in the 30’s and it’s been in the family ever since, they tore it apart but it never got restored like so many so he decided to sell it. It’s a late 31 car and has killer patina after I knocked the dirt off the fenders so I plan to leave it as is and maybe find a flathead for it. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Glad it never got restored as it looked to be a mild Hotrod of sorts. Congrats and please share the revival... What are those things on the hood stick on louvers?
He told me they started taking it apart in the 70’s Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I’m not sure yet. I just picked up a pinched 32 chassis in Louisville because I’m about to start building my 31 coupe and then this popped up so now I’ve got to decide which one to build. I don’t think I can swing them both but we’ll see Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Good score, but thats not patina....that is a rust free car just begging to be stripped of old paint and repainted.
Here is a little tid-bit of useless information for you. If my chart is correct that 1951 Ohio license plate is from Geuega county, Ohio
I had messaged them and got their phone number the night they posted the ad. As usual I was stuck at work on overtime or I would have gone that night. Saw it was sold that next afternoon. Glad it’s not going to end up a rat rod or worse. If you decide to sell your coupe , I’d like to see what you have. I’m local. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Ok, I’ve had it a few years and the guy I got it from in Missouri had it since he was 14 and he’s in his 60’s now. I’m going to come back over there Thursday and get the body, chassis, and the rest of the parts I couldn’t get in my truck when I came over and payed him. I can’t remember, it just showed up and I pounced on it. I’ll see if I can find it again Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I went back yesterday evening to get the body and the rest of the parts. I just happened to buy it from under Tom Hardy’s nose but we’ve become good friends through the deal and him and one of his helpers went to help me load it all up. He’s a stand up guy! That is some killer patina. So much potential. Congratulations. I'm sure it will turn into something great, whatever way you go with it.
