My fascination with Nailhead-powered T-buckets started at a young age:

That's a good lookin T! A 352 with 11:1 and six 97's!!! I bet that thing would scoot!

 

Some folks hate 'em, others love 'em. Me, I like 'em, sort of how I like my cousin Liz. Not enough to marry, but don't call her bad names in front of me. They're literally the least possible amount of car with as much engine as possible crammed in it, and damn the practicality, it's a Hot Rod, not a grocery getter!

 

I like them so much, I even have the license plate to prove it.

 

They are cool ass and most guys don't have the guts to drive them.
Kind of like a pink linen shirt.

HEY, I resemble that first comment? LOL I drove the only red Deuce roadster from Texas to GOOD GUYS that had a/c. It's needed in South Texas. LOL

 

Ma to Indy looks like 950 miles, in that crazy little car, in 1962. That rules!

 

I love T-buckets and drove a ton of miles in mine.

 

I have a question about this front end setup where you flip the sawed off bones backwards as spring hangers. I've studied every picture I can find of Grabowski's, Ivo's, Von Francos, and now this car and still can't tell if the pieces of bone are simply bolted to the axle or welded on. It seems like if they were just bolted they could move in and out slightly as the shackles compressed. I would really like to do this on my car since I have a similar V8-60 setup. Can anyone with personal experience or access to any of these cars answer this for me? There's a line in the first Spotlite Chassis booklet that says just saw the hangers off the bones and bolt them on backwards. It doesn't seem like it would be this simple. But maybe it is...

@Sancho I see you posted a newer picture above. Do you know the owner of this car now? Is it local to you? If really like to see some closeup pictures of the front spring perches/wishbone ends. Any chance you could help me out with that?

 

Maybe contact Titus here on the HAMB too .... he had a chrome '60 axle and a set of those styled perches .... maybe gone now .... OR maybe not ...
