    HEMI HEAD NHRA,
The major problem is (as usual) the steering clearance because of the oem design in these Mopars, however, the way to go is with rack and pinion. I tried both, manual and power, and decided on the power because of the added weight.
Oh, the engine is a 354 with a 392 thermostat housing, 727 Torqueflite, 68 Dodge 8 3/4 rear end and front disc brakes. I can't tell you how much fun this thing is to drive.

Looks like my photobucket links are broken in an earlier post. Here are mine. The Chrysler is a 392 with a Tremec and on its way to getting painted. The Plymouth is just a fun old beater.

Well i would like to put a rack and pinion in but i think i would have trouble finding one that fits and wether or not it would mount to the oem frame (im not rich so im gonna stick with the og frame for now) that and having to find a power steering pump. Well id probably have to find an after market steering column wouldnt i? Which would get rid of the massive steering wheel. Which i kinda dont want to get rid of, but i do need to get all the shifting linkage off it anyway so... could i use an after market column with the original wheel?

The Sunbird/Cavalier units can be used, with mods, on 46-48 Plyms. Probably a Thread or 2 here somewhere.

I have a complete '94 Cavalier CTO Rack & Pinion unit + pump, if you're interested.
Also have a '98 Cavalier Z24 unit less pump. I think the Z24 has a faster ratio.

    That's a beauty.
Saw a green one like that at Pauls @whtnxt backyard hot rod show in Woodburn 2 years ago, it was a stunner.

The standard rack will be plenty fast for the old Plymouth. I've done a couple of Cavalier racks on 46-48 Plymouths. There are several threads giving details right here on the HAMB. Search "rack & pinion steering for 46-48 Plymouth" should turn up a couple of hours of reading complete with pictures. My postings would be under my old HAMB name. Gene

  13. Early Dodge has a 392 hemi under the hood. Late Desoto has a 383. Both at the Belton Cruise Night a few years ago.

1950 Dodge B2B L6. Have Edgy cylinder head, a 2x2 carb set up, and Fenton style headers I'm hoping to install soon. Also need to find some time to find an 8.25 rear out of a Cherokee to make it a little more driver friendly. FB_IMG_1525480224119.jpg

My first jalopy, a 1950 Wayfarer...have had older (ie; 70's) cars before, finally landed a 50's car (something I've always loved...all the style!). Steep learning curve for sure, but I couldn't be happier

The Wayfarer was a little shorter (115" wheelbase) than the Coronet (123" wheelbase), and was a little sportier with the roadster, the business coupe and the fast back sedan. The Coronet and Wayfarer shared the same grille and tail lights so from the front or back they look similar.

New to me 37 Plymouth Coupe. All Mopar with a 360 / 727 and Dakota rear. Little street roddy but runs and drives well and I can start knocking some of the street rod off of it this fall.
