Projects Late 31 commercial cowl roadster

    I found one of these cowls last night night. No holes for hinges. What are the options to add doors to this cowl

    Any idea if doors can be made to work on these for a roadster car

    If you can fab the groove that the front of the door lip fits into, you could probably make it work. Check your pics versus Flop's pics and you will see that the jamb is different. Are you a good fabricator?

    Maybe you don't care and could just make the door overlap like a 28-29 does.

    This would be a good place to post whatever info you have on "Commercial Cowls" I think I've had 4-5 over the years they all had three screws on the top piece, nothing like the one in the OP. Even if the sides are setup for hinges the top rail and top tin are different than Roadster/Touring. This is an original '31 Mail Truck with the Commercial Cowl. Bob dsc_0256_web__large.jpg
