Reading comprehension fellas... go back and read Ryan's post. This is NOT about cars you currently own.......
I have a friend who has "probably hundreds " of collectible cars, I ask him How Many? He said it depends on whether you ask my therapist or my insurance man, cracked me up !!!!
My pair would be my dad's 36 Ford Cabriolet and his 37 Chevy coupe dirt modified he raced back in the 60s. Race car was channelled so low other could read his number on the roof racing beside him .
Ryan said, "In any case, it’s your turn to join the conversation. Pick two cars owned by the same guy at the same time, post a pic, and tell us your thoughts." Nowhere does it say that"guy" can't be yourself. Or that they cannot be "currently owned" by that "guy".
Well this almost sux. Most of the cars with a pair that I'd like, owned by the same guy as Mark has guided, are restored Classics. If I were to mix it up and just shag a pair of known cars it's easier. That said I have to go with (from an image search); and... I'm not usually the guy that wants someone's car their way, but these 2 nailed it all the way around and I couldn't change a thing. Well, except the name on the paper... What else? These come to mind. The Leslie Special from The Great Race: And Dean Martin's 2nd series Dual Ghia: I really could get banned for excess use so I better quit while the quittin's good.
when you read the entire post even though it does not exactly say that it can't be yourself it is meant to be someone else's cars... and one thing it does say is a rod and a custom....
While as for a dream pair, I would have to say for a hot rod its hands down the McMullen roadster from the 63 Hot Rod Cover and as for a custom would be Miss Elegance The 32 has been what I have considered to be the perfect hot rod since I was a kid and its inspiring a lot of idea as I am collecting parts to redo my 33 ford pickup. Outside of Taboo (which Taboo has always been my favorite custom car since childhood again) Miss Elegance has been my #2 custom car. I have a huge love for tri five chevy customs and all the awesome custom work into that 55 is just amazing. My main problem is I just love classic cars and love to collect and preserve them. As a younger guy I enjoy taking the old stuff to show full of tuner cars and have them scratch their heads, lol.
I've always regretted selling my 51 Merc at a time when I was beyond broke and needed funds to move. I bought the car as a sophomore in high school sold it after I blew the flathead up, bought it back a couple of years later for 10.00 and kept it for another 30 years and it was even my wife's daily driver for a while. If I became a member of the more money than sense club I have watched this 30 Cadillac roadster for a long time but the outfit that has it wants enough money for a decent house and shop in this area. The car has spun my wheels for a while now.
What is my favorite pair? Well, in all honesty, I’d have to say these two. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
My dream pair is in progress. My 34 pick up and I and squirrelling away parts to build a 34 roadster. Might take me a while but I'll get there eventually
