Here's my '47 coupe that I picked up at an auction recently. I'm missing the doors, though. Would the doors from any '41-48 coupe fit?

'42 thru '48.........'41 skins are different at front of door.....

and, you can use doors form Pontiac and Olds coupes that shared the GM "A" body.........

Here is my 41, It was pink and purple when I picked her up!!! I painted the pink flat black and left the purple top.. running a 1985 Buick V6. Its for sale so make an offer, trades welcome!

 

My 47 Coupe project , has Chevelle front clip and 350/350 combo slowly coming along.

 

My 48 Coupe. Has a Chevy 350, 350 trans and a Camaro clip.

My 47 Chevy sedan, owned since 1992, 472 Cadillac, turbo 400, 9" Bronco rear, chopped 3.5", hood sectioned 1.5", 102 louvers. It gets 18-20 miles per gallon at 70 mph.

 

48 Chevy sedan. Chopped, channeled over 65 El Camino frame, sectioned 4 inches, shortened 6 inches, steel lift off top, forward opening hood. 396, 3 speed, 10 bolt 3.36 posi. Need to start working on again.

I've got a 47 really similar to this. Going on over a year on the build and almost done.

My current conundrum is with the hood latch. I've replaced the cable but the bend is too much on it and it's basically useless. Doing some googling and it appears lots of people have issues with the latches. So what did you guys use?

Also, any suggestions for a hood prop?

 

Oh, and I guess a couple of shots as it currently looks.

Here's what I have to hold my hood up- basically a piece of 3/8" rod. and a couple of brackets. This is under the hood lip, using a couple of holes that were already there.

This is the inside fender socket for the rod.

And a small clip to hold the rod end up under the hood lip. The springs don't really hold the hood up high enough to work under without whacking your melon, so using the rod gives you a few more inches of headroom.

 

I used the hood release knob and cable from a 89 Chevy PU. It bolts up just under the dash and look good. While you are at it remove the latch and drill or grind a oblong hole in the bottom of the latch mechanism so you can stick a screw driver in between the grill bars to push the latch if the cable ever breaks. I also just put new hood springs in and don't need a prop.
