Reddy Kilowatt, years ago I thought we were the only Power co. to use that. While looking up some of my trinkets I realized that there were more Electric companies using them than not. They have become quite pricey. No ashtrays but how about service trays. lothiandon1940 found the first one for me at Jalopy Showdown a few years ago.
This was my grandfathers. The base lights up, the glass thing is a lighter. Cigarette holder for short unfiltered kind. I cleaned it up but left his cig ashes in it. He passed in 1973.
.........Thanks for the credit, but I'm sure you would have found it anyway. It's doubly cool since you have the '61 Wagon to go along with it.
We used to find a couple advertising ashtrays a week in the thrift shops. They've disappeared now, unless you want to pay antique store prices.
"Goodrich Silvertowns" in script lettering and judging by the tire size, from the mid-1920's. Not an ashtray, but part of a desk set which had included a matching ashtray. The pen is an old ink well 'dipper'.0630181928 by TagMan, on Flickr Next one is another "Goodrich Silvertown" (no 's' on Silvertown) "6.00-16" "4 Ply" "Golden Ply" printed on the tire. Imagine this one is a mid- to late- '30's 0630181928a by TagMan, on Flickr Last one is a "Good Year" in size "6.70-15" "4 Ply", probably from the '50's. 0630181928b by TagMan, on Flickr
