  1. I am usually a red engine guy, but that looks great in green.

The premise of my build is to be a mild hot rod built in a pre-war manner. This gives me a little wiggle room for modifications but also keeps me inline with what was issued by Ford. So the green was chosen for me .

And I know my Lyons caps burn me a bit on everything falling in-line with pre war but they’re too cool to not use so I bent my rules on that one.

AF5A8164-AF1A-4978-811B-409619A96E69.jpeg Got some clearance issues to tackle with the column drop and shifter due to a longer dash. This about the last of the major fabrication left on the car. Once I get this straightened out it’s a few more odds and ends (decklid gaps, rivets, door strikers) and then it can be braced up to begin it’s journey off to final body work and paint.

It’s like opening the drawer of a hot rod jewelry box

I have the same red light dash light. I prefer the grey looking bezel but mistakenly played with mothers on mine. You can quickly rub a mild shine into it that might blend with your car better.
I may buy another so I can have the grey back.

Just need to shorten the hard tube up about 1 1/8”. I opted for flathead hardware rather than larger bolts that would have been the correct size to fit in the wind wing holder thingies hole. I felt this is a mild hot rod so I’d go out of the “blue print box” and do this set up my way and a bit more fluid but still reminiscent of something that could have been done back in the day.

Going to assemble the leaf spring pack and I should have the banjo, torque tube, etc. back next week. Yes I powdercoat the inside of my drums, then they are turned.

I did the dirty work. Now it’s off for the smarter dirty work I just don’t want to take a shot at.

Braced up and off for final fab, metal work and then off to paint. Had help from the Veazie Bros today and now it’s on to the chassis.

Idk why but I really hate staining especially when you want 3 coats and it’s 2-4 hours between a coat and two sides to each piece.

It would be nice if you would select full size images when you post pictures, makes it easier for those of us that follow along.
