Many [30?] years ago I saw an ad in a magazine for external belt drive for the SOHC 427..Was a picture, looked pretty neat and tidy..I don't remember who was manufacturing the drive nor have I ever seen any pics outside of the ad; in cars, etc...

Yes, toothed belt..I think it was in the first 10 or so yrs of Super Fords magazine..

 

Did all those SOHC's lined up scare the motor right out of the poor Camaro???

 

No, but they sure all look cool..

A friend of mine ( Larry Kalsch) built a belt drive, 2" Gilmer, around 1975. He ran this '27 in B/SR, and C/A. It worked well, and he did several sets for customers. If you look closely, you can see the belt.
