Very cool car! Shows it's age with the paint how it is. I'll be leaving what's left of my paint as well! It only looks like that once, and when it's painted, you can't go back! Mine at the moment. I'll have to build a similar rag top to yours I think! Sent from my SM-N910G using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I haven't even washed mine yet, there is still plenty of paint under the weather beaten skin. Sent from my SM-N910G using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Enjoy it. Drive it. Look at it. I think it is perfect as is. My advice would be to stop asking people for hot rod advice. I ignored all of it when I was playing with this. Who cares.
Thanks man! I agree all said and done I have just done what I wanted to do anyways lol. And I couldn’t be happier still a few things I want to tidy up but I have been pretty busy building a model a for a friend of mine
A little update with the Old Devil it made the cover of Hop Up magazine and I couldn’t be more happy. I am still in shock. Here are a couple shots of it and in the mag it shows Jim’s face when he saw his old car for the first time since 1957 it’s a pretty amazing shot of his excitement. When he saw the car it sparked something and memories started to flow. He talked about driving it to the salt for the speed trials in in 1954 as well as lagoon on the weekends. And he found like 8 more pictures of it. It was an amazing day and I will never forget it.
Great, great pics! Thanks for sharing. p.s. you look amazingly alot like my oldest son, Josh, I mean, you are almost his doppleganger.
BIRDOG, I really like your roadster, here's a couple pics I took of it at the KultureKlash show last year. Mick
Congratulations @birdog on the well deserved ink...your respect to what is did not go unnoticed. Your connection with Jim in all of this...priceless...
Birdog I Hope you don't mind me posting this pic of your car at Bonneville last year. I had the pleasure of meeting with you and took a few pictures of it and this one is my favorite. Love everything about this car!!
Unfortunetely we won't be going this year. Last year was the first for us and we really enjoyed it so we'll definetely be going back possibly next year.
Just found/read this thread from the beginning. Great story! Looks like, once again, an cool piece of history landed in the right hands. These pics are amazing! If a double post of pics is going to happen, glad it happened with these. They are worth a second look.
