i have been wanting to build a crosely comp coupe for a long time. now it looks like it will happen. i picked up a wagon body and started on it , and a guy came by and wanted to trade for a killer sedan body. so the body in the pics is the old one. it will be on a chassis research K88 replica chassis i built, stretched 12 inches over the original length, blown and inject BBC, hopefully an olds rear, chassis research "V" axle with anglia spindles. tons and tons of hand made parts got the spindles, then machined new king pin bosses for the axle i made all of the frame brackets are based of the original CR style steering box mount rear end brackets front perch motor plates push bar progress will be slow on this one, if i am lucky i get a few hours a week to work on it after i do customer cars for the week *note, the name moon cricket is not meant as a racial slur.*
i was planning on calling it the moon cricket before i knew it was a racial slur. so to be honest people will just have to get over it. it was not meant as racial slur on my end so oh well, if it gets nasty so be it.
I never had here the term "moon cricket" until this thread and didn't know the meaning till the other guy pointed it out. Call it what you want! It looks like it's going to be a great build. Bad ass garage as well and holy grille shells!!
Can a wagon be a "comp coupe" ? Idk but the work is really nice and you can call it whatever you want, Just be prepared if someone doesn't think so
really wanting to get thrashing on this thing after another great weekend at the hot rod reunion helping the hilton family, and all the other awesome cincinnati crew with their cars. it just seems it will take forever with out having all the cash to keep it moving. so asking for a little help with major expenses. anything is appreciated. i have a funding/ sponsorship web site http://www.gofundme.com/adenw0
Wait, what? You want us to pay you to build your car? I gotta get in on this game. Scotty. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Wow... that coupe body is ugly ... I like it. The wagon style comp coupe has been done a few times with great success. I like the fact you've gone a different route. This one should be fun
it is more like private sector sponsorship. you are not paying me to build my car. i am building it, have spent a fair amount of money on it so far, just going to take a lot more. just like any other racing it is expensive and sponsorships go a long a way
