History Pete Eastwood built 29' roadster

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Barillaro Speed Emporium, May 30, 2014.

  1. Hahaha, thanks Denny

  2. Took the roadster for its first ride to work on Tuesday morning. A 30 minute ride. Got some minor debugging to do but overall the car did great. Plan on driving the car as much as possible before the big go west this June.

Looks nice, any idea were the Edsel Speedster is living now? Bob

  4. It's with the Edsel and elenor foundation, they also have the 34 speedster. Couldn't be in a better place.

  5. Hi Jim, I'm the guy with the blue Vicky that was parked next to you at Detroit. Very nice to meet you.

I'd seen this thread a long time ago but it never occurred to me that your car was the Pete Eastwood roadster. But now that I've stumbled onto this thread again, the louvers in the hood sides are unmistakable. Great car man.

  10. Finally found a 29 tn plate for the roadster. Been driving it with no plate cause the new ones are so ugly.

I hate to say I`m in love with a car but in this case I just can`t help myself. One of the best looking roadsters I`ve seen, very well done.

Pic #2, the side-by-side cruising shot...Perfect depiction of 'buds' (or newfound competition!) buzzing down a rural road.
The comparison of the two brings out the well thought out placement of headlights, hood/shell fit, and overall stance; wheel & tire choice is...just that. Choice!
Other roadster is interesting, tube axle and all...but the similarities just emphasize the degree of 'right' the Eastwood/Barillo has.
Great job, just love the car.

OK, warm and sunny SoCal day, hanging out with a hot rodding icon, surrounded by bitchin' rides, you just finished a 2000 mile road trip in your new roadster, cold brewski in hand , no wonder you can't stop smiling.

We need some update photos of that RAJO powered T Sprint car that is in the garage behind you! Are those two push type lawn mowers against the wall? The Outlaw biker with the restored lawn mower is one of the funniest stories Pete ever told. Bob

Jim, I'm sittin' here drinking a beer, wasting time on the 'puter, and look what I find !
I'm not sure you'd like to be here right now, we're on "Storm Watch" they are predicting almost an inch of rain over the next 48 hrs. (lol).
Man I had a good time with you guys.
If I haven't said this before, all of you should know, Jim took me for a ride in his roadster, and it drives as good as any hot rod I've ridden in !!
Hey, why don't you guys fly out for the GNRS next month? You can stay here & I've got enough cats to keep everybody warm.
Stick around 'till Feb 2, 3. &4 and you can go to the vintage go kart races in Riverside Too!!
Bob, I'll try to get some pic's of the T Racer posted. Right now I'm working on the new '34 one ton to haul it on.
    Merry Christmas Everyone !

  22. Hey Pete,
Don't think we can make it to GNRS this coming year. Probably gonna drive hot rods to Austin for the lone star roundup. Wish we could do it all but you know the game. Saw on the news you guys were getting hammered with rain. BTW , we got a new siamese kitten last month. Thanks for the compliment on my car and hope You, Derek, and Monique have a Merry Christmas! 1481887679484.jpg

  23. image.jpeg image.jpeg Been raining all weekend so I decided to do some long over due polishing on the roadster. I realized it's the first time I took the hood sides off since our road trip to LARS. All in all things still look pretty good. Need to do a grocery list of things to get the car ready for summer but it's just way more fun to drive it than working on a finished car. I don't know why starting a brand new project is so much easier than tearing into a car that's done.

I was wondering what you used for a bypass hose. Is it some preformed hose and what was the ID?
    Thanks
