Interesting pic of the NY roadster with the then-typical East Coast square roll bar. He musta been having a tiff with NHRA. I wonder if it was over the square roll bar?

Interesting. I took a similar photo to this thread starter recently.

My dad (Art Furtwangler, owner of Renton Motor Parts) sponsored Harold G for a number of years in the 60's. A young version of me spent MANY weekends at the track as a result. Might be why I turned into a gearhead...

That's my first cousin, Mike Kellems with the flag.

Now Darren Miller's car, recently in Rodders Journal with some pics I supplied.

This is probably a dumb question but was the Jack and Jerry special formerly Tony Nancy’s 22Jr. roadster?

It sure looks like the first 22Jr to me. The vent on the cowl panel gives it some credence. And the three-legged roll bar and Swiss-cheesed frame.

While on my 48 Cars 48 States Trip last year I was lucky enough to get to spend some time with Bill Yeager in Delaware. He had found the Cedarquist Bros. Roadster nearly complete but disassembled, he tracked down some of the parts that had been sold off and rebuilt the car to be able to race again. There were some concessions made to get the car to pass modern tech so there are some changes from the original but he had a huge passion for this car and it’s history.

I featured the car in my book, had a good talk with him on my podcast where he told the story of the car and had a great time hanging out in his home.

Sadly Mr. Yeager passed a few weeks after these photos were taken. The photo of him in the car was the last time he ever sat in it.

Godspeed Bill, I was glad to know ya!
