IMG_1084.JPG IMG_1086.JPG IMAG2214.jpg Here is the build for my 1949 chevy interior and dash update..

When I got the car it was ok... but not that good..

Had the old S-10 plastic column and ok wheel... 1990's gauges... and a crappy stereo,...

Also the seats were tired and electric windows were sad..

Guys, i know white seats look great when the cars in the garage... and at the show... but the rest of the time they SUCK!!

I sent the seats out to get recovered in Black....
while I was waiting,,, i replaced all of brake components...

Simple mustang @ stuff from speedway... easy to use and works great..

I do think i should have gone to the bigger 11in disk.... these are the 9.5in... and they stop the car.... but a bit more grab would have been nice..

I did end up swapping the booster... IMG_0013.JPG IMG_0046.JPG ... but that a different post..

next step.... spend 500$ on dyno mat...

    then slap it everywhere.... IMG_0029.JPG IMG_0036.JPG IMG_0051.JPG IMG_0054.JPG

Also, coated the bare metal with Por15 first... to prevent any long term rust...

    NExt......

    Wire her up!!

I used a cool Fuse panel, from Centech...
It had just what i needed is a super small box... and was pretty much plug and play...

    Bring your own wires...

    http://www.centechwire.com/PDP-1B-High-Tech-Fuse-Panel-PDP-1B.htm

Mounted the brain in the truck, next to the battery and started pulling wires...
    IMG_1043.JPG IMG_1044.JPG IMG_1046.JPG IMG_1047.JPG IMG_1085.JPG
it took a day to run the wires... then another day to terminate them... but its well worth it,... the wiring is clean, color coded, labeled... and hidden!!

    Hey Dave,

the Rears are the original frames, but the fronts were from some 80's or 90's truck... maybe the same S-10 the steering came from..

I had them recovered with the same vinyl Mercedes uses, so they feel really nice!!

The headline was a total pain!
I both the kit, from Ecklers... and its cut pretty close.... but the install is really tricky!

the kit comes long.... so its a balance between gluing, stapling and trimming... There is only one point that u cut it short and had to make a little patch panel./.

I also through out my back in the processes.... the odd angles and lots of in a and out of the car beat me up..

but its way better then the 3- 5k quotes i got... all in the headliner cost me 300$ in material... so ill take that any day!

I also found that the thinker the materiel the better for the headliner... The stuff i used was very thing and i felt like it would tear..

Check out the link to this build... just started the post so i will keep it updated...

Nice Chevy! That gauge pod is pretty slick. Did you make that? Reminds me of spider eyes.

it was with the car... I found some similar on sold only websites...

its basically a disk with holes in it...

the back is really cool and wired up as its own assembly so it comes off with one connector!!

Great work. Where is the MC/booster/Proportioning valve from? What size is the Booster?

The booster is the 7inch... hopefully has enough power! The mount kit and valve is all from speedway.. Its a new kit they have specifically for the 49 chevy... it went it very easily!
