Whats up guys... I am getting ready to take my shoebox down to the frame to remove surface rust and redo the brake lines. Im planning on just using a wire wheel and then spraying it. This will be my first time and I was just wondering if yall could give me a few pointers... Do's and dont's??? What should I spray the frame with when done? Thanks in advace, Kevo
Unless your planning to thorougly sandblast, paint and prime, consider investing in some POR-15. Its good stuff!
if you are doing the effort of taking the body off the frame you should sandblast it. powder paint would be my vote
I wire wheeled mine and rolled it with black rustoleum. The way I see it, it wasn't coated before and lasted this long, and it's not going to be driven in the snow so it's good enough for me. Here's a pic of it finished.
