I dig your color choice and love the tru spokes! Personally not a fan of the skirts though. Really dig the Edsel overall though, one of these days I hope to own one of each 58, 59, and 60

In the process of putting some of my chrome back on. Picture was taken while it was dark outside, but I'll get some better ones tomorrow! I should be getting lowering blocks soon!:) 20180702_205408.jpeg

That mirror is cool! I don't remember seeing one like that even back when those cars were new.

They came on the car, unfortunately I only have one. I need to find another as time goes on.

Very well done so far. I need some of the energy you have. Go MNM go! You should be proud of what you have accomplished.

Thank you! The car really has come along away! Excited to get it too the show this year and get it on the road. Though the car is far from done, this was my goal to get it just driving there. And I'm so close now.

I'm not a safety nazi but I did add seat belts to my 59. I think they are a good idea and I wanted my son to live over it if something happened

  15. Belts are a great idea especially with that spear of a steering column. I went with 3-point belts on my Ford up front, 2-point in the rear seat.

Alright, so I took the valve covers off to paint them, and realized I had a bent push rod. Luckily I had a spare, put the new one in, and put everything back together. Look better? 20170727_194542.jpeg Snapchat-643939018.jpeg 20180704_142806.jpeg 20180704_144736.jpeg 20180704_150351.jpeg

I checked the valve and the lifter it wasn't stuck or anything, so I just put a new one in.

Did you start the engine to verify that all is well with the valve train and that the engine runs properly?

Not yet, I ran out of time as I am leaving out of state for a few days, so i am going to leave my dad the keys and he will verify all is well while i am gone. And we can see what else needs to be done.

Alright so today we have officially started the engine and everything seems to be okay. Makes me curious as to why the rod was bent. But hamb will not let me upload a video for you guys. So let's just hope for the best! Everything is moving properly nothings dry, nothing is stuck.

  26. Push rod could have bent when some unknown person overrevved the engine, maybe sat there and floored it unloaded in neutral just for the heck of it, you may never know...

I think something like that, I know the car was bought in a auction a few years ago so who knows? Anyway all is well let it run for about 30 minutes seems fine. Or maybe it was that last long burn out they did, smoking the tires in the Edsel ;)
