Wow, @31Vicky! Glanced at the wall and thought it was a crime scene!

Clever use of 'Zolotone' gave me a 'forensics start'...

  2. Nope
Orange paint and black paint flung off a stick.
    It was fun

  9. Obviously most of the units here are from the first gen Mopar hemis, but here's a pair that just slip in under the HAMB friendly definition.

A few years ago I built a "tribute" A990 '65 Coronet and was lucky enough to find an engine with the K heads that were only produced in '64/5 and were appropriate for the car. While to the casual observer they don't look different from the rest of the covers from the era and the later rebirths in the crate engine world, they had a different shape at the upper corners. The ones that came with the engine I acquired were really rough so I went on a search, picked through some hen's teeth, and found these period correct M/T covers. They were pretty decent, just needing a little polishing.

    Hello,

We would all like to go back 60 years to stay as young as we were back then. Here is a hemi cover with a young guy (we all know) working hard to get that motor running at Lions Dragstrip. By this time(1962-64), it was no longer a Buick. The photos is by Don Hale, taken from the book, “So Cal Thunder, When Lions Roared” by John Glaspey. One of the best books about the history of Lions Dragstrip in those early time periods.

Ever see Tommy Ivo on TV? Wow, that goes back so many years… It is hard to remember that kid on those TV shows. You have to be older to act young again. That is what hot rods and drag racing does to people.

This is the perfect thread for me, i have a desoto s21 291 hemi and i had plans to paint the block chrysler blue so that it would somewhat go with the black firewall in my 50 dodge coronet. But i wasnt sure wether or no to paint the valve covers and the wire covers (since they have the lettering on them). What do you think would look good with the blue block? Blue block with chrome covers and painted lettering or painted valve covers contrasting the block with chrome wire covers with painted lettering, what do you think would look good?

  20. Nice! How you're going to make me have to post the Arias Hemi valve covers for my tall-deck 636 CI BBC Arias Hemi . . . I believe the heads I have came from one of your Bonneville efforts. :)

  25. Too lazy to scan a pic. John Wiebe's Donovan covers with a 1970 world finals decal sold to Billy Graham for the million dollar funny car and sold to me in 1978 for my top fuel car. Mine looked like all the other Donovan covers except for the decal. In 1978 they were just old parts. The 392/Donovan was done by then except for blown alky.

  29. I keep threatening to drive my Willys to Earth Day. Call it an Alternative Fuel Vehicle with a bumper sticker that says, "Originall ran Exxon, Now run Chevron". Afraid I would get my tires slashed or worse.
