Newly found photo showing a 15ft. single outboard runabout? Modelers: Looking for a 1/64 scale, single outboard powered, small runabout with a single tire trailer. The tire can be middle frame positioned. Hello, Back in November of 2017, I made three exact copies of a 1959 Chevy 4 door station wagon with all of the paraphernalia that goes along with camping. It was an original red Matchbox 1/64 die cast model. I did the whole GM factory take apart, sanding and modifying on all three scale models. I was the giant robot doing all of this work. Why? Well my wife and siblings were going through some rough times with their then, 98 year old dad who had just passed away. To make things a little easier for them, I decided to bring back a memory of them camping at the Salton Sea Lake in Southwest So Cal back in 1959-60. Modifying the wagons was done by matching the factory beige color to the closest one available. My wife saw the color and said that is the one. So, the wagons went from Red to White to Satin Beige paint for all three station wagons. Once the wagons were painted, reassembled and rolling, it was time to give these little bits of history to the 3 siblings. Jnaki They were well received and were rolling across the table tops in three households. Even mentioned to the grandkids:… “This is what great grandpa drove that took us everywhere, when we were kids…including the Salton Sea for a week’s worth of camping with the whole family…” But, I have always wanted to finish the project with that cool little outboard powered runabout on a trailer. I have looked high and low and saw trailers, but dual wheelers, boats, but ski boats, etc. So, my request for all of the HAMB MODELERS is to search in their resources for a 1/64 scale model die cast boat/single motor and single tire trailer that can be adjusted/modified to go with the old 59 model boat from this family. The recollection was not a white wagon, but a pinkish color. In looking up the 59 station wagon color chart, the closest one was a “satin beige” that was slightly pinkish. I am sure their dad would not like it if the station wagon was called “pink.” My wife picked out the color and I pretended to be a custom, GM assembly line. I made the mistake of finishing one of the station wagons in two coats of white before the word came down from the pedestal that it was not white but a light pinkish color. (So, back to the disassembly and sanding board.) The final models were pre-approved before the final finishing touches were put on. The big canoe bit the dust and turned into the family’s orange, canvas tent, that in reality, was so heavy when folded. Also, the ever present green Coleman pump, white gas, stove went everywhere for cooking. These camping items stood the test of time as 20 years later, our family of three used the same orange tent and green Coleman stove on our Mammoth Mountain/Lake Crowley trout fishing, camping trips. The orange canvas tent leaked at the seams and the canvas soaked moisture through the material. The green Coleman stove worked well and reminded me of pumping the handle on our Moon Equipment aluminum gas tank that was in the cab of the 671/SBC 40 Willys C/Gas coupe. Jnaki The Big Sur and Half Moon Bay ocean, cliff side on a cold blustery day and night was a big contrast to the Mammoth Mountain camp sites. But the smell of bacon and eggs in the morning and tons of trout (Mammoth Lakes) in the evening made it all worthwhile in the outdoor camping locations. JNAKI, NOV 21, 2017 EDIT DELETE !REPORT! Did not know Matchbox made a 59 Chevy wagon,I knew they made a 59 2 door hard top and a 56 and a 59 Ford wagons in the late 50s or early 60s with the gray wheels. Matchbox made a couple small boats with trailers back then too and should be able to find on Ebay where I got mine.
A little digging around in the basement brought these to light. Sorry about the OT Camaro F/C. There are roughly another hundred down there, some of which I have had for over 40 years. Time to begin resurrecting a few.
I am going to have to claim one of the spare rooms here, and get going on some of these again. I want to do the Watson up as a Supermodified. I wish I had the skills and patience that I see here.

I would like a few of those Monte frames, they would make an excellent A body Late Model with truck arm rear suspension.

While I'm thinking about it I'll share my ebay score. An old AMT 1964 Pontiac Bonneville built-up... And the reason I bought it. My parents old Bonneville before it went to the junkyard. They bought it in the 80's and it had a cheap repaint but, was a damn sharp car.
