Anyone know anything about this little (TROG 2018) Modified "T"? Sure would like to see some build pics.
Looks like a very doable build......maybe with a less pricy engine, doable without breaking the bank.
Spring looks to be a ‘35 or later, but it could be the curved ‘32-‘34 spring too. By switching the end bells side for side on the banjo he remounted the spring in front of the axle.
Right; I was wondering how the radius rods are mounted. I sure hope that they are reinforced, 'cause there's a whale of a cantilever goin' on there; as well as the bending moment encountered when under hard acceleration. I hope that the torque tube and radius rods are capable of handling the forces.
I don't see plates on it. It looks like it was built for a day at the beach and not for the street. I'm not being negative. I like off-road fun, go carts, etc. as much as the next guy.
I just figured he used a '42-'48 torque tube and rods, those are the shortest and in the photo they look to be at the correct angle. BTW, the car was built by Mark Conforth, his earlier Modified, number 88 was in TRJ No. 74. 88B is his latest effort in a long line of cars.
It would have to be one seriously hopped up banger for me to be worried about that The later springs don't play well with the Model T rear crossmember. Without a good look at it I'd imagine that's a T width arch spring in there.
Hey Guys it's got 40 tubes turned around and we flattened a T spring, late radius rods just tied to the torquetube. and it's got a 2 inch Z in the rear frame under the body, suspension works great and even on the pavement it seems fine. The body was in 5 pieces a couple months ago and we built the car two weeks before the race started and finished wiring it the morning we were leaving. We built this for my sister and she was doing great until the races got canceled.
