It's a Nason color, single stage actually. Called "Whole Earth Metallic". I was going after a root beer brown, but my buddy came across this and I liked it. It really changes in the sunlight. I'm diggin' it...

wow, My truck has set so long the battery is dead. Charged it up and good to hear it run again. Looking for a driver side door for a 66. Mine was wrapped around REAL hard, those safety checks don't stop the door from crunching when backing up and catching the open door on the barn.

    Dave
I've submitted this photo to a few different threads, as others have, it never gets old.
I swear I can see my 66 Suburban about half way up the line.

  12. My beater parts hauler. Tripped across it a little over a year ago and just cleaned it up a little, lowered it, got it running, swapped a few new shiny parts on, and am enjoying driving it almost daily now.

  14. And, the “before” pics when I picked it up to bump the thread again if nothing else. :D I also put a new bed floor in it that the previous owner had bought but never installed. Now I have to be careful not to screw up the new bed on my beater/parts hauler. ;)

  17. And...the commercial that it was in before I had replaced the beat up and missing trim with new. This happened about a week after I started driving it when a buddy called and said a local add company was looking for an “original” older pickup for a commercial. It paid $200 for a couple hours that same evening, but the cool factor of it being in a commercial was the best part. And, no, I am not the old guy driving it. He is the “actor”. Struggling to figure out how to get the actual commercial loaded, but will keep trying...

  19. Heres a picture of a black 66 it had a 283 stick. Big rear window. Crome bumper and all the custom trim. It was taken in 2000. I found the picture today. I told my wife she has a look like she just are two boxes of little Debbie snak cakes. I like playing with danger! black 66 chevy.jpeg

hey Guthrie dude, your parts hauler is an exact match to my Verla Kay, I am about to send her down the road as I cannot keep up with it's needs. Great soul food to see you enjoying yours.

  21. That’s cool. I have gone back and forth on keeping mine or not, but am really enjoying it. I just get tempted thinking I could use the money for my kids project vehicles...

  22. My wife has a 66 chev 3/4 ton that her daddy bought new in Dec of 65. back in 2000 we where in the feed business. and She would go to Thayer Mo and buy wholesale feed. She consistently hauled 6500 pounds every trip. Once they made a mistake and put on a extra 1000 pounds. That load was 7500 pounds. The 292 never had any trouble pulling the hills. The last picture is my daily driver 66 GMC. 66 chev.jpeg 66 chev1.jpeg 66 chev 2.jpeg 66 gmc.jpeg

Here's my old driver I got in 1980. It's been through several paint jobs, engines, transmissions etc.
It's still one of the best driving trucks I've ever had.
