Scout tested well yesterday... my back sort of survived the day. Sort of... thank God for young healthy folks doing all the work while I assumed the supervisory position in the chair (that's not ass-up by the way) and almost needing an engine hoist to get my old, fat, broken ass in and out of the machine.

We went back to back 10.20 passes with soft launches and early shut offs. No leaks, no strange noises... oh ... and the Scout was good too...

The Prefect also performed flawlessly with 10.50, 10.48, 10.49 passes and great rolling burnouts

This is a long way of saying - contrary to my previous whining and mewlings about being old and broken - I will be at Meltdown 9 with the Scout

  11. Wouldn't that be nice! Have you ever heard the old saying "wish in one hand and shit in the other and see which on fills up faster"? That may well apply here. LOL

One truck and trailer almost ready. Falcon needs a tach swap. Comet needs side glass front shocks neutral switch engine turnbuckles hood and deck lid bodywork and paint brakes need some love... I guess if we make it to the truck stop in Rochelle for the big meet up we can finish it up in the parking lot while we wait. Only one problem. We will probably be last ones there. It’s always down to the wire with us. Btw Norb, is everyone set to meet so we can pit together? Noon Thur at Rochelle truck stop?

    Yup that's the plan
I scouted out the Petro Truck stop, stayed there the Friday night before the Uncle Sams Pie Eating Contest.
There is 8 RV parking lanes on the corner or N Dement rd. and Petro rd. Other RVs won't be parking there in the middle of the day guessing that they would be on the road by then.
Track opens at noon so if we leave Rochelle around 1 pm it would put us at the track about 1:30 pm, by then the opening of the gate pile up should be through.
So anyone that wants arrive at the track together, to pit together with us, be at the Petro Truck Stop in Rochelle IL by noon Thursday the 19th. Please PM me with your phone number if you are planning to join in, so we can get an idea of how many lanes we need and also make it able us to contact you if your running late.

    Meltdown Staff,
I will be arriving Friday at 9 am gate opening. Will tech inspection be ready at that time? last year there was some confusion amongst the White Shirt staff as to where tech was located. Also, will Hot Rod class get equal track time this year?

Well folks I have made a successful pass in the digger at Waco international speedway and it's a runner that's for sure I have a skosh more tuning to do but I have a decent base tune up in it things are looking up a bit so Friday night TNT is a go at this point and if all goes well I will be meltdown ready probly won't be any big ass wheelies this year but it seems to pull real hard especially on the big end of the track keep the positive thoughts coming my friends I haven't had a good run yet but things are working out see ya all soon
