I am one of the chickens. I am scared to even drive mine on the street. The last 2 years something had happened right before the meltdowns and I have had to scramble. After the meltdowns it will be beat on it as usual

  3. The Meltdown Drags is NOT a test-n-tune type of event.

It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that everyone confirms that their car is performing correctly BEFORE coming to Byron and that it won't break in front of several thousand people that are watching you.

Please don't be 'that guy' who brings an untested/unproven car to this event.

    Thank you.

I have a problem proving mine every time I drive it. just rolled over 4500 miles and I am just about due for a new set of street tires. It’s mainly the deer that scare me

It is a bummer when there is break downs. I understand it happens. I did get a diaper so Hopefully I won’t need it. I definitely don’t want to be that guy

  8. So there you go everyone. I will see you at 41. Run them hard and take the next two weeks to make repairs or adjustments.

  9. I was that guy last year with a proven car. Sometimes they break even with brand new parts. Freak thing can and do happen.

It's bad enough when a car that has been tested breaks. When the trans let go past the traps last year I thought about just leaving the car at the end of the return lane walk though the woods and the golf course and walk home!

Got the clutch back together with the new pressure plate, and got the motor back in the car.
Just gotta get all the bits and pieces hooked up,and a couple gaskets in the carbs, then I’m ready to test.
Keep your fingers crossed that my oil pan gasket doesn’t leak,Boys.
I would not enjoy taking on THAT job from underneath the car.lol

The Sprout is going to day care tomorrow,so I’m going dawn-til-dusk on getting everything hooked up and ready to run.
Hope to have some GoPro footage very soon.
Most of my test n tune is going to consist of sleazy ghetto street hits out in front of the house....My youngest guy really digs hot cars, and mine’s licensed and insured,so I’m gonna cut out the middle man (the track) for working most of the bugs out.

Saw this inside the Indianapolis Children’s Museum yesterday and it made me even more antsy for the Meltdowns.

Well hopefully the Rebel Rouser can muster a full run or two this year. Since I have a Ford power plant I added a diaper too just in case of diarrhea;) Don't want to do that just in case. Still need to tighten it all up and get the straps squared away. Hope my clutch and wet Chihuahua strength leg can do better this round. 20180624_193456.jpeg IMG_20180627_122812_349.jpeg

Thanks Stacey,I’m looking forward to making something more than just a couple of 1/8th mike passes and a top end rip down a two lane highway, which is pretty much all it’s got on it to date.
Shutting down the race car factory for Mama’s birthday weekend, then back at it Monday.

I have more respect for ford and mopar guys now. We can’t even figure out what pulleys to get for my boys. Chevrolet is so easy

Ford stuff is simple if it’s all you’ve ever really messed with.
Chevy stuff has some weird twists and turns too, you’re just used to it.:)
Give me a call if something has you scratching your head.

Beer was on sale, so I hauled off 151 lbs of cans and took refuge in my basement.
105 + heat index around here.
Oh wait, my car is ready, cheers. :)
