Sorry for the crappy picture. I am trying to find more out about this one which I am showing here because it is pretty cool and unusual.

You are both absolutely correct. Since I wasn't able to make it down this year I hit a local show instead with my '68 F250. It was such a disappointment, my wife and I were in and back out in 15-20 minutes. It just wasn't worth it. Hot Rod Dirt Drags is hands down the most fun event I've attended. Hopefully I'll make the Hill Climb. Another similarly styled event that's worth checking out is the Hot Rod Rock & Rumble at PPIR in Colorado Springs at the end of September, that one was also a blast.

You're welcome and thanks @63Compact. The Hemi Hudson was definitely cool @Racer29. Thanks for stopping by. Lastly - here is a picture, unfortunately not a very good one, of @winduptoy 's car acquiring that coat of dirt.

  14. looks like a LOT of fun. Dan, your pictures are great as always.

May not be quite Hamb'y, but a bunch of us BUICK nuts are in lone Tree through Sat. 175 cars registered, some from the teens. As in 1913, perhaps older. Several modified to some degree. Come see us.

The 1933 Chevy that I believe is owned by Mike Nicholas, but probably not. It is at every one of the Nick's garage events, at least so far. Not sure who is driving here.

The driver is Cal Kennedy. He was one of the founding members of the Denver timing association. He originally built and drove the T-33. He also participated in the original hill climb in 1954.

The passenger is Butch Salter and he's also a member of the Denver Timing Association. Butch has ran everything from midgets to dragsters and still runs his '32 roadster at Bonneville and at The Colorado Mile.
Butch has been the HRDD finish line flagman the last couple of years and he does an incredible job! A couple of Colorado Legends right there. Priceless picture Dan.

I apologize in advance for the top picture - it is kind of not so good, but this was one of the coolest cars there - an immaculate '32 Sport Coupe owned by David Bennett that has been restored to what it was like in 1962. I hope in the near future to be able to photograph it in the manner it deserves.

Haha! Only a photographer would say that. Insane amount of work you do to doctor the photos and I appreciate your explanation. I'm an old timer who has been slow to catch on to the digital effects (and still don't care for extreme effects) but you seem to have found a sweet spot Dan. Great thread, thanks for taking the time!
