Hot Rods Paint Code Needed For These Gold Torq Thrust Wheels (On Green T Coupe)

Found this picture of a '27 T coupe on another thread that someone shot at a show. Can anyone advise me on a paint code to duplicate the gold/bronze color on these wheels? They can't be magnesium wheels with Dow7 I'm assuming. I want to paint some aluminum wheels for an older off topic sports car with this color. I've come up empty so far with internet searches. If the owner of the '27 T is a HAMBer please speak up. Thanks.

 

The back wheel is in a shadow, so I'd say they are brighter than what the picture suggests. Look at the front wheel, the sun is shinning on it at the bottom. If I was looking for gold to match, I'd print the picture, and go to the paint store and see what I could get that was close. That's a Missouri Dealer tag, but I don't remember ever seeing it at any show I've been too.

 

If this is close to the color you are looking for it is a gold engine paint I purchased at Advance Auto. I can provide more specifics when I get home later today.

 

Looks like a metallic color that VHT makes in engine enamel spray bombs. I am not sure what they call it. Burnt orange maybe?

Thanks for the feedback guys. I think the VHT engine paint is a little too bright. I'll have to look a into the nugget gold. Anyone else?

 

I don't know what the color is, but I saved that same pic to my folder where I store cars & scoots with good color combinations. I like the green and gold combo.

I believe that's the same T that was built by Mike at Cromer,s Muffler in Joplin. You can check the HAMB Drags photos from 2010-14and you might get a better shot. Memory tells me that it was a standard rattle can metallic gold. It's a good looking ride. Sam

I would look at bronze or copper for that color. Rustoleum makes a bronze or copper hammertone paint. It is about that color, but you might not want the hammertone finish.

 

reminds me of a 70's nova color. look through color books or charts for cars in the seventies, golds, bronze were in then. chevy pickups if i remember had a two tone gold combo also.

 

I appreciate all the input. I do have paint chip books from the 70's and 80's so I'll do some digging. Was just hoping someone had shot some aluminum wheels in the past and could take out the guesswork.

Looks like a House of Kolor, candy pagan gold; to me.

 

Pagan...even the name suggests some huge tiki guarding the cave it's in...

Those candys can all be altered by the color underneath them. If that gold was shot right over the dark aged color of the magnesium would help. The sample pic was probably shot over a silver base.

 

I painted this light with this color. The color is richer and a little darker than the picture of the light. Kinda in between the cap color and the light I painted.
