I have trouble on welt cord on corners. How do you do it?

  2. Try small cuts every 1/16 " starting 3/4" from actual corner. this should allow welt to lay flat as you go around corner.
    Good luck

Someone gave my brother in law a Harbor Freight "Industrial " Yamata sewing machine.
He gave it to me so I will play around with it and see what I can learn.
I appreciate you sharing what you are learning since it will be a resource for me!

What does hitting it with a heat gun do for it at this point? Not being a smart ass was just curious.

Thanks. The heat gun takes out any remaining wrinkles. Or if it's a hot day, an hour in direct sunlight does the same thing.

  18. Nice work!!!! Love the contrasting welt. It brings out the detail of each section without just blending together.
    Keep up the great work!!!

Man love the door cards with the pockets. I must say using a pedal car for practice is a great idea!

Keep the pics coming it’s a great thread! No pun intended

Thanks..although much smaller then a full size roadster, a lot of the principles are the same. The order of doing things, installation and spacing of body fasteners, sewing multiple layers where needed for support, using the snap making tool..etc. it was good practice
