  4. Lewk,...hope you can save that 38 Chevy coupe, they're gettin hard to find,..I believe it's a 38 as it has defroster vents in the windshield garnish, 37's didn't..good luck.
...I've always wondered how many cars on this thread have been saved...anybody saved any of these?

if I am thinking of the right one, it was nicely done. I haven't seen it in years and then it popped up in a custom van thread on you tube but I cannot find it now. I thought that Carl Casper's Vanturian was in the same video but I still couldn't come up with it using that in my search for it. Shame to see it in that condition now. Amazing how many nicely built show vehicles end up being found in similar conditions like this one.

At the end of the attached story it mentions that "Richmond's Code Enforcement Manager says the city will be looking into the problem on Friday".....Or in other words, it is going to be hauled off and scrapped.

On the other hand, the story has a recent date, so perhaps it could still be saved if someone moves quick enough.

  11. Looks pretty far gone to me especially the left side firewall & cowl. But I've seen far worse saved.

More likely it will be eventually offered in a probate sale along with any other items on the property. Good luck to the buyer, though - judging by the vegetation, that garage hasn't had a roof in a long time.

This just a slam against Robert McNamera who was one of the whiz kids at Ford. He thought the 2 passenger 55-57 Tbird needed improvement so he made it a bigger car. He was also the guy that later became Secretary of Defense under Kennedy and Johnson and whom our readers that served our country in the 60's would remember.

I remember him well. Oddly enough, that asshole is buried in Arlington National Cemetery with thousands of heroes. But he is dead and that is a good thing.

And in '58 it sold like three times better...

  22. To me the square Birds were ugly compared to the 55-57 T-birds. I would not have bought a 58 T-bird if I was able to buy one then. If I was a buyer back then, I would looked high and low for a 57 instead.
