The Devlin Special - and that is about all I know about it or who owns it. It was very cool though.

Flag girl Amy is a trooper. More energy than a typhoon. Flagged every car off. Then she had some fun.... IMG_20180603_112802205.jpg

    Dan,
What type of camera and lens were you using? Did you doctor your pics any or is that they way they are?
You sure did a great job, every pic is so clear and vibrant.

The pics with Flag Girl Amy in the air are really cool!

Thanks Bobby - for this event I used my Olympus OMD EM-1 Mk II and mostly my 12-40mm f2.8 Olympus Pro lens. A lot of other cameras can do just as well. I absolutely do "doctor" most of my images - hence the reason it takes so long to process them. Unlike the majority of people photographing these events, I am not really out there trying to provide coverage by shooting and showing each and every car, no matter how bad the picture is Good or bad is, of course, to a degree subjective.

Even a simple looking picture like the top image of the Hudson above are often highly modified. Here is the original of that picture.
    Dirt Drags 18 OMD-0202.jpg
Here are some of the changes: Took out the shadow in front on the ground, removed all the overhead wires and electric pole, removed the cars entry tag, removed the person sitting in the car and reconstructed the back window, removed the person showing in the driver side window, enhanced the color and contrast. This was actually a decent shot to start with and I thought it was worth going to that effort to make it better to result in a relatively clean picture of a cool car in a relatively attractive setting.

@bobbytnm here is a more straightforward example. Top is right out of the camera, the bottom is after I adjusted the color, contrast and crop.

You're welcome Bobby. I would get bored of just taking the same pictures everyone else is taking.

1948 Ford w 392 Hemi - Glen Stark parked next to St. Nick's(Bob Nicholas's) 1957 Ford which has a 427 FE. Both are very fast and ran against each other at least once that I saw.

  25. I can assure you that your pix are never boring. They are absolutely awesome in every respect. It's hard to put the words together to adequately convey just how much your efforts are appreciated, but be assured that they are by many!!

Thanks @gdaddy. As far as the ZZ Top song goes, I'm definitely not sure. Thanks so much Wayne (@Bowtie Coupe ). I really appreciate your comments and continued support.

Great photos as we can always expect from you and a great prospective on the event to boot. I'd love to be able to make that one with the roadster when it is done.
