I'm considering building a custom one off solid cleaner for my car and wondered what you guys might have done so let's see some. I always love to see somebody else's ingenuity and how things get made from scrap.

Any body know the height of a holly four barrel choke horn of hand? I'm working on my air cleaner at work and left the carb at home.

I used a speaker grill out of an early 40'ish Plymouth if I remember correctly. It's been kicked around the garage for so many years Im not 100% sure what it came out of... But I think it will work out ok. And yes the aluminum pullys are going away along with that blue paint.
Model A.jpg Model A 001.jpg I started this TR cleaner about 4 months ago and Im trying to decide if I like it or not? Yea or Nea?

  20. This "top and bottom" are made of 3/16 sheet brass with an air cleaner(k & n) from a Porsche to feed air for my 2 Stromberg 97's on my flatmotor. The engine turned brass pieces were used as decoration on a Texas bank vault from a bank that went out of business. image.jpg

aircleaner2.jpg Much like T Hudson did, I used an old hubcap for the top, and then drilled vent holes in the side of the old oil bath cleaner.

  22. Here is mine made out of 2 inch exhaust pipe and custom 18 gauge metal Jim

  23. I'll play along..... 1/2 inch thick aluminum machined on my table saw. The retainers on top were the blanks from cutting the holes in the lower plate on my drill press. The first pic I used three single egg frying pans turned upside down and the lids on top ( which is the bottom of the pan. I canned the red ones in favor of the finned aluminum one. air cleaners & brake pedal 005.jpg filters 002.jpg

Nothing special but I modified some old oil bath air cleaners for a couple of my rides. I did have a bit of a learning experience while modifying the oil bath one for my 56. Make sure they are nice a clean before you use a plasma cutter to take them apart.
