I can anticipate some interesting conversations at Pebble Beach in the future on whether the Kookie Car was restored to it’s original configuretion, the TV version or the latest version as purchased.

    That is awesome news.

  5. The main reason that I watched "77 Sunset Strip" as a 10 y.o. kid, was to see Norm's bucket. It was the spark that lit the fire in me and it's still burning strong after all these years. I've seen numerous attempts to replicate it but most fall short. It's nice to know that it will be returning to it's glory years. I am sure that Norm would approve!

Thanks for the update. Brizio does some fine work. Snowman

  8. The Horne intake would be a major stumbling block for most of us peasants, but being Andy Brizio, I'm sure one (or more) will land in his lap, if they haven't already

ROY,,, NOT Andy, is in charge of the restoration,

    BIG Difference !!!

ALSO, does anyone know who created these current
modifications, And I mean WHO ACTUALLY DID THE WORK? looks like George did it, IMO

Does the engine EVEN run? the Horne manifold is probably hidden under the double mess.

  11. Either one, makes no difference. When you have a name that everyone knows, the good stuff magically shows up at your doorstep

This will end up in a private collection/museum blocks from my house. I can't wait to see it in person once it's done!

I provided Frankie Costanza ('Von Franco') with the Jackson Roto-Faze ignition in 1981. Norm saw it and remarked, "That's GOT to be the same one off my car...Rare like 'Broke the Mold'!"
Agree on the Horne intake...but Jim actually still had it when the car got the blowers. etc. He told someone he had 'all the original stuff', but it would never be back on his 'T' again...
Wish we had some info on what-all Jim Street's widow let go with the 'Kookie Kar'. There was a plethora of parts 'removed' when it got 'updated'. Jim said he had everything.

    Thanks Jive, for this update.

  16. I’m happy to report that the new owner of the most iconic T Bucket of all time will indeed have it restored back to her original late 50s TV show & Life Magazine configuration

Thank heavens, because it's current appearance is an abomination.

  17. The Kookie car is one of my favorite hot rods ever! But, I'd still like to have the parts they remove to clone the last version? Evolution!

Rest In Peace Norm, someone is finally doing the right thing with your historic T. I can't even look at that latest version of your car, what a shame!

Maybe Roy Brizio can find someone with a 'glass T to clone the Jim Street version, so it can live on! (groannn...)
...And up there in Rod Heaven? We can hope that Norm is 'being Norm' with Jim. One can only keep up with Norm for a couple of hours. Jim has Eternity coming!

I was so happy to hear it was headed to Brizio's. He is 100% the right guy for this job... He will knock it out of the park... no doubt.

One might say in reference to the 60's version of the car, "I guess that's the way the Kookie crumbles"?

At least the name still fit! That later version was "Kookie" as hell! :(

So glad that it's being put back to it's 77 Sunset Strip incarnation, but I'd love to see somebody clone the Larry Watson paint version.
