I've been trying to collect early 40s SW Tulip Gauges for my 27 Roadster, but I don't think I could ever afford 2 temp Gauges and a fuel gauge as they ask a bunch of money, so in the mean time, I put these on until I get lucky or get a lot of money.

The Temp gauge is missing the sender, so it probably can't be fixed

It CAN be fixed, theres a bunch of guys that specialize in gauge restoration and bulb replacement.

    Runs about $85 to fix

  5. I'm not sure that my green line counts as "early" but its vintage. :D

Here's something a little different. A very early 30 psi oil pressure gauge mounted in a tear drop housing. I'm a sucker for Art Deco. This would look right at home at TROG.

Some more of my Stewart Warner collection

    IMG_20171108_120821_022.jpg

Here are some N.O.S Stewart Warner Gauge accessories I have in their original packages. These are 2 gauge light kits which include the light, wiring, and bracket. They illuminate through the side window on the bezel.

Another S.W. 2 5/8" smooth bezel, curved glass, front mount AMPS gauge I was able to score.

Here are some more early N.O.S. S.W. gauge accessories I was lucky enough to find. The 2 pod gauge panel in it's original package. Also another complete light kit for a 2 5/8" gauge.

Here are some of my 1935 speedometers. They are quite large at 6" in diameter.

Another 2 5/8" Stewart Warner Vacuum gauge. It is a smooth bezel, curved glass, crescent short tail needle, green light window, front mount.

I also found 4 super cool Stewart Warner patches.

I wish there was more participation on this thread. I think it's one of my favorites right now. Once bitten by the vintage Stewart Warner gauge bug, there's no help. You're just addicted for life.

Here are some of my recent scores.

I was able to pick up a few more early Stewart Warner 2 5/8" gauges. I like them because they're a little more unique in that you don't see the Air Pressure and Fuel Oil Pressure gauges every day.

A few more found their way to me.

I just love the faded needle on this one, this 1950s 2 5/8" SW gauge just has the perfect hot rod look.

I follow DolesJohn on Instagram and follow him on ebay, I would dare say he has every and any gauge you want and is for sale. I messaged him tuesday and asked him if he had 2in Tulip gauges available. This is what I bought, the gauges I've always wanted and they will be here saturday. . 123_13.jpg 123_12.jpg 123_11.jpg

Yep. He moved to a new shop so he's been busy with that, but he's still around and keeping busy. As stated, he posts fairly often on Instagram.

Has anyone held/bought/used Pat Pryor's repro 2-5/8" bezels? They look really nice in the few pics I've seen on IG. Not cheap, but if they are good it will rescue a lot of tough old gauges.

If I had some gauges that needed those bezels, I would support him in a heartbeat. The bezels are spot on, and at one time he said they would be available in chrome. I can't imagine the amount of time it took to create the dies to stamp those correctly.

I think I may buy one for my temp gauge. Mine has great patina, but maybe I'll go with the "perfect look" since it's the temp gauge.

The bezel and curved glass kit he offers are made to factory specs. Seems the people on Instagram that have purchased them are very happy with the kit.
$90 I believe gets you the bezel, curved glass, and gasket. You can buy just the bezel cheaper if you want.
