Whats a Dead Thread? Dead? Not! Your just behind times, look at this = The Antiquated update... Discussion in 'The Antiquated' started by Ryan, May 12, 2018.
Old Thread from the Dead or not just a heads up for the guys looking to buy a Tall Deck Desoto - 330/341/345 be sure to get the heads magged, they are prone to cracking between the seats. Not sure if its a thin casting or cooling issue from back then or not but I'm investigating the issue as I deal with them.
I love my hemi, but remember, ALL hemi parts are mad eout of that special alloy, unobtainium! Especially DeSotos.Whenever I bought parts for mine, I heard the faint sound of a cash register sounding in the distance. The one thing I will say is, all the hemis have the best castings, forgings, and machine work I have ever seen on American production engines.
My buddy just finished his deuce pickup.. driving the wheels of of her.... 345 Adventurer... Runs like a raped ape
Hello all. New to the board. I have stumbled across this recently. Hope to make a deal soon. Very complete. Carbs are there.
Old thread, old motor...hell, old guys so why not? I nabbed a '56 330 S23 out of a garage recently, much like the OP's, disassembled, machined, brand new parts, newly rebuilt heads, you name it. I started this thread, check it out; https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/yeah-its-got-a-hemi.1112750/ I just got a box full of new bolts from Hot Heads. While talking to them they informed me that they are working on a new casting for an intake that will be adaptable to 2 X 4, 3 X 2, who knows...671? [Insert heart beating rapidly]. They also have a tidy timing cover that takes a SBC water pump, new front pulleys, finned valley pans, matching valve covers, tranny adapters, etc. @Jeff Norwell what compression ratio did he go with on that 345?
