I met "Jewels" in '83 at OCIR Nostalgia Nats. He was working on his Bud Bryan '29 AV-8 and his Deuce B-400 was sitting next to the roadster. Very nice guy. He has some rare Deuces. Hope to see him at El Mirage in November. Last time there I sat and talked with Jim Jacobs and Joey Angelo. I really felt privileged sharing a table with "Jitney Jake".

That would be my uncle Tom's 32 SD before it was finished.

That'll change real quick. I'll give the roadster and the 5 window a little brake this next coming year

  10. Did you buy that one Don? I think I’ve seen some pics of it here and there on the web.

Looks like it might be one of the Australian bodies?

    I like it a lot.

  11. Yep It's mine Ron. It's a Harwood body from when he was still makin a few in Tyler Texas. Not many made.

My uncle's 32 sedan delivery. All steel body with a fiberglass rear door, I'd love some signs or tips on what to look for to determine whether it started life as an SD.

Other features include the matching themed trailer(s), a '85 tuned port Corvette motor, Ford 9" rear end, coil-overs, Centerline wheels, and many other high quality details. My understanding is that the car was built in the PNW before my uncle purchased it at Hot August Nights ~20 years ago.

IMG_5290.JPG IMG_5292.JPG Here is my 32 Ford phantom delivery. It was built from a 31 slant windshield 4 door Murray body with panels and parts from two 1932 Ford bodies... a Vicky and a tudor sedan. It has been together for over 12 years with 302 Ford power and an automatic.
I think it has shorter doors but I like the longer looking side panel. With only 58 true V-8 sedan deliveries produced and only 344 4 cylinder sedan deliveries produced giving a total production of 402; I wonder just how many true originals remain? In a sense, most of those on the road today are a "phantom" to one degree or another.;)
I've got to say that I'm very grateful for all the efforts of others to ensure that the body style survives; especially since so many have been done so well.:)
Hats off to those that have made that happen... it is clear that it took great effort and attention to detail. Great craftsmanship. Thank you.

Back before I knew better, the first SD I ever saw with the factory formed rear bumper I said to myself "I bet that guy was just sick when he backed into that tree".

Down here, as far as I know we never had the Sedan Delivery.
I believe that back in the ‘30s there were only 2 Fordor sedans converted nationally, with front door left as original length, - more commercial looking, perhaps less inclined to be of hot rod proportions !
Here’s a photo of what they would have looked like, photo shopped and borrowed from another thread on the Hamb. - credit to @Jimmy B

I still think about doing this to my Fordor.
