Yessir, Trapper John was a good friend of mine. Sadly, he has passed. His family still has his cars, although I don't believe there ever gonna do anything with 'em.
Here's a photo that Bbhf sent me for my website. Does anyone know which state this Norwalk was in? ..... Five years ago, someone else took the photo of this plaque at a car show in Southern California. I assumed it was based in Norwalk, CA but now I'm not sure. .....
I found this Throttle Stompers, Long Beach plaque 40 yrs ago in a place here in Oz that imported a lot of old US speed shop parts......does anyone recognise it or can tell me whether its the same one that the Valley Custom guys, Neil Emory and Clay Jenson as well as Dean Batchelor may have used(see page 18 of Pat Ganahls "The American Custom Car").........thanks, Andy Douglas.

This plaque was given to me by my good friend Don Gallagher,well Don is actually like a second Dad to me. He was in the club in the early sixties
Very cool plaque. Do you know which So Bay it was in? I know there were several areas called that in California. The So Bay club I belonged was based in Redondo Beach but that was a few years before your friend's club was started.
The bottom plaque was designed by me when we rebuilt HARVEY’S broiler (hence the way the font is in caps), representing its past. The plaque is for the enthusiasts who hung out there when we opened it as Bob’s Big Boy Broiler-Downey. I presented our partner Jim a chromed version, others we did in black or red. There was one that I have that was Red,White & Blue. I don’t ever recall this gold one unless it is Auto Butcher member Dan Cuellar’s and that could explain its gold background. If one is familiar with HB, then the plaques design incorporated the elements of the build and its 70’ sign. Since HB opened in 1958 to a plethora of R&C’s that’s its origin for its existence. Nice to see it included in here. Some of the clubs plaques that I’ve been a part of as a member or have been. OLD TIMERS -WEST L.A. 1986 Started @ All American Burger Westwood/Ohio St. Westwood. (The idea here was that a member had to be 40 yrs old, I was 22, I was the youngest guy in). OUTRIDERS- Eagle Rock-Glendale CA. 1932 Reformed 1982 by Ed Newett Costa Mesa-Newport Beach. (Was the youngest member for years). Yakety Yaks-SFV. Early 90’s? CYCLONES-No Cal/So Cal. 1997 This is a loose based club of pals, some run our speed equipment. Pasadena Roadster Club-Pasadena,CA. Oct 1945. Reformed 2002 in order to perpetuate the advent of historically accurate or original Hot Rods up to the mid-century. Reinstated the PRC Reliability Run for several years and do Roadster Rides when members schedules permit. Jokers-North Bay CA. No history other than ya gotta have a good joke!!!! Very Kool to see......
