Been very busy, but managed to replace the rear Springs with a set of McVeigh's 6 pack HD units ... and added a Larry's T-Bird HD front sway bar.... massive improvement over the stock 7/8 version. The rolling test lab is a happy old girl.

Consider this a bump, pics from the original owner's son via Ford Drag Cars Facebook page. Note progress from MP to Altered.

The 57 and 58 tailgates and rear of the car are a lot different. The 58s have a hump in the body to meet the taillights, so the tailgate is a lot thicker, 57 tailgate is flat. Also the 58 tailgate does not lay flat when open. May have been more of a retooling issue.
    My 58...

Probably why it didn't carry over to the 58 Ranchero. The Ranchero being more of utility / work vehicle than the wagon. To bad, would have looked cool on a Ranchero.

Smart looking wagon you got there BTW.

Lots of history to this Meteor. Brian bought it in the 60's, used it to go to college, wore it out and took it back to the farm and pushed it over the river bank. Went back years later, took it home, rebuilt it, installed a 428 and top loader, later changed it to a C6. Beauty wagon.

  29. One I took on one of my roadtrips. This is at the old Queva Mill north of Las Vegas, New Mexico. That's a friend from Amarillo in the black and yellow Fairlane he has had since '63. We were on our way to the Red River car show. IMG_5434.JPG
