Would be great if GM would bring back "The Elky".
    or
Can you imagine a MOPAR Dodge demon elky?

Wow, "The Kid" hit a grand slam.
Love it. Maybe a longer bed would really make it sizzle. Mail that to GM styling dept.
Very important NOT to make the rear end look like a Camaro , Corvette or Caddy.
    Must have its own "look".

Thanks, but I cant claim that pic. I thought it was pretty cool too. There could be some changes made, but its a good start. There have been rumors on the web for quite a while that GM was considering building a new Elkie. Im skeptical if its true or not. I found that pic doing a 2017 el camino search. There are similar pics out there. I think the Aussies may already have something new that is a modern version of the el camino (a ute as they call them) but smaller.

Holden in Australia had been making Utes for GM until last year. A friend was able to import a Ute body a few years ago and used the drivetrain and other parts from a wrecked American built GM to put the car back together as a left hand drive.

There's a sow's ear waiting for somebody to make into a silk purse. A convertible windshield & stock type glass lift-off top come to mind.

This is my #1 HAMB ElCamino, ever. The rake is perfect, just enough to level the roof line. The fact it had a 427, well the nasty just gets nastier. Bet ya miss it, I would.

  16. Thanks Highlander! Yes, I miss it! It has a second owner since I sold it in 2005 and has a small block in it now. Resides in PA near the NJ line. The current owner is a jackhole. Atleast that's my opinion on it.:D It looks like this now. It was on the Hot Rod Hustle car show flyer last year.

I think thats just one of those soft camper tops. I saw one of those a while back on Egay, they were asking quite a bit for it.

  22. The age old question for El Caminos... is it a car or a truck? Now we know what Michigan thinks... or thot in '59.

Met a guy with a 55 at Syracuse Nationals a couple years ago. We took a few pictures together with our ElCamino conversions and cruised through the Fairgrounds together.

  24. Trying to figure out what he did. Wagon paint dividers flipped backwards? Nice job on his window. I'm still partial to the way you did the sail panels and set the glass in the ''tunnel''. More like a car than a truck.

  26. Wow, I was in Millsboro a week ago for a visit. Missed my turn into the development and ended up at the docks. Too bad for me that your car wasn't parked there at that time. The pic is great, but wud have enjoyed seeing it in person.
