Johnny Loper had some classy cars. We were at Indy that same year with the MG. Loper's black anglia came after the Willys, also a beautiful car.

Don Grovo out of Austin TX. Originally ran B/G with a 327 Chevy and four speed and later ran A/G with a 409 and B & M hydro. The photo is from Six Flags Dragway.

And now time for a correction since I checked with Todd. First, that is not the same car as in the first photo as the original car was crashed and was then replaced with the car I posted, the orange one. And the photo I posted was Oct 65.
I checked with Todd as my memory rarely serves me well. :)o_O

Enough photos of this car have been posted that by now everyone should know that it is the Ardun powered Safeway Sandblasting entry.

That to me is so cool, I remember all the beach buggys on LI but never seen a Willys passenger car of that vintage. Plenty of jeeps and wagons. There was once a fire tournament truck that was a Willys with a BBC in it, saw that but this is a first. Cool picture El it brought a big grin to my face this morning.

To give you an idea of a tournament truck (not really hamb friendly} but LIers know what I'm talking about.
