    Hi all,

Had an ad up for a 52 chevy pickup. Modified it yesterday and reduced the price.

It is now gone completely. Had been up since April.

    Any thoughts?

    Thank you

Was it the yellow one with an LS engine and billet wheels?

yes. And I didn't receive notice that it was outside some sort of rule or guideline.

I can redo the listing, it just doesn't make sense it disappeared.

  4. Seems like I read once that if 3 people report something as off-topic or offensive there's an automatic deletion that takes place. Don't know if this is what happened here or if that is even true. Something to ponder until a moderator responds.

Yep. Auto deleted by the system for being reported off topic too many times. Sorry man.

How is a 52 chevy off topic? Just curious. Thanks for any help.
    Because it has an LS?

  7. The LS may have been what caused someone to report it. I don't believe that the individual is required to give their reason. Like I mentioned before, I think it only takes 3 people to report it, but I'm not entirely sure about that number.

Yes, LS engines are off topic and frowned upon here. this is a traditional hot rod and custom site

Thanks for the help. I had no idea these items were so offensive. Usually if I am off base Ryan will let me know. I have been selling off and closing down a hot rod shop for almost a year now. The owner passed away and left a lot to go through. I have met some really great people on this site dealing with it all. Sorry I offended anyone.

    hombreverde,

No worries! Just about everyone who has been here for any length of time has had a post or two...or ten deleted. It is the nature of the beast so to speak. If stuff is off-topic it will get reported and the moderators will go to work doing their jobs. There are some here who are self-righteous and sanctimonious, but you will find that in just about every walk of life. Don't let those nitwits get under your skin.

I wouldn't think you "offended" anyone. People flag posts to help out.

It's one of those slippery slope things... keep one LS/Billet hot rod and then 5 more show up, which turns to 10, then 20, and so on until The Jalopy Journal isn't The Jalopy Journal anymore.
