  1. image.png Did you see the post I alerted you on in the T thread? There is a video posted with Tweety in it. I'm not sure if it's posted in this thread already or not?

We sure hope so. Wanna see some wrenchin' on that 'ol chassis.

  4. Thanks a lot for that vintage video!!!! That bird really went on an incredible journy most of its life, and now it's about to get his wings back. Thanks to Rex Rods and their staff.

  5. The frame, rearend, and a few other things bolted solid to the frame table. Rex Rods breaths Hot Rods and the culture of Hot Rodders from dawn of the cool age. Jim loves going to their shop. A real spark in life for Jim. Lots of measurement to get every thing right. IMG_5132.JPG IMG_5133.JPG IMG_5134.JPG IMG_5135.JPG

Okay, this is more like it! Interesting jig holding the rear chassis rails straight and vertical - never seen one. Keep the pics coming.

I'll say this... Went from barely completed chassis with engine and trans mounting to what looks like a real hot rod that's ready to cruise in gray primer!!!! MORE PICS PLEASE!!!!

This old rod is well on her way to becoming a street and possible drag strip warrior once again! Steve Coonan from The Rodders Journal magazine should be eyeing this original hot rod for a much deserved, full color feature!

Waiting to see how the exhaust will be done and how it was done originally back in the day. Almost seems like she's ready for its iconic yellow color! Keep us posted with more progress.

  15. Tranny is in the shop. Motor is in the machine shop. Hopefully we will have all that back in a month. Jim and I can't wait to hear that caddy spark life into it again. Kieth is a master motor builder. Four new Stromberg carbs will sit on top of this caddy!!!!

Kieth and the crew making great things on this bird bird. Working on the a and b pillars to make the doors open and shut correct. Shorty is doing the body and paint, that's a great fit being that's he is next door to Rex Rods. I clicked these pics today. More History of Tweety still coming out of the wood work every day.

Make it nice and safe, but dont over restore it. So many of the iconic cars that get restored end up as just modern recreations of the original because all the warts and pimples get smoothed out and molded over. Half the character gets erased.

  29. Most of the gas rod welding is being saved along with the first welding Jim did in his life in shop class at Austin High School. There is a wo k of a art on the way he wired the grille to the grille shell of that we are saving.

Can't be completely sure, with Tweety having such a history - this hot rod should be restored to its former 50/60s glory! I'd bank on it!
