  13. Mikey, we can get a look at yours next Saturday, right,?

  14. I hope to be there. Have you tested your new set up yet? Any details you would like to share on the induction?

  15. Hope you make it, Mikey.
One little ride around the block. Wow. Like I'd better get out of it wow. Got to fab up a throttle return spring bracket and hack a larger hole in the hood. Hood is optional for the Showdown!
    Dyno results:
782 hp and 697 lb/ft 10% overdriving the blower. Race fuel for that money shot.
Street trim is 10% under drive
Only 732 hp 666 torque, but on pump gas.
    I'll manage.

    Hello,

Ever wonder when those familiar, two port Hilborn Injector scoops became popular on the drag race cars? The change over from multiple carburetors to the simple, two hole Hilborns was a hop up trend for more horsepower than the multiple carbs could give. When the Fuel Injection Engineering Co. still had their offices/factory in Santa Monica, the two port injectors were popular on all kinds of race cars.

Hilborn moved to Laguna Niguel and then after a long period in that corner building complex on Cabot Rd, moved to the newest offices in Aliso Viejo. Their legacy and history continues to this day.

But, the need for more speed went through stages of creativity to get more air into the two ports. The late 1959 saw different versions of those scoops. Scoops ranged from newspaper delivery boxes, to swoopy custom scoops on top of those famous two port injectors.

Then in early 1960, a simple ad popped up in the local drag news paper. The rest is history… “Cutting Edge Fuel Injection Systems & Components For Over 65 Years”

Did anyone make a two port other than Hilborn?

Yes, the Enderle Barn Door was two port and it had more throttle plate area than the Hilborn.

It's a hilborn james someone has smoothed it up and had it coated I've seen a lot of them where they smoothed off the name my two port scoop that was on my injector when I got it had been done that way I sold it and bought a new scoop because I wanted the hilborn name on it fortunately they didn't do that to the injector itself it really doesn't hurt the usefulness lol it still will work just fine lol
