They may be OK but just those three words in combination: Chinese Aluminum Radiator, sounds scary, like Russian Female Weightlifter, or British Fine Cuisine. ;)

  2. I'm running them in 2 different cars. One for 8 years now. Think I Paid under $200 for the first one. No issues at all.

If it's for the Chinese military, I would buy it. I bet they get the good stuff, as we are supplying them the cash when we buy their cheap crap.

  4. My money is on U.S.Radiator...Bought from them on three different cars..no problems after 10 years...

Hi. A word of caution on buying Chinese on ebay. I am an ebay seller (not auto related) and if you have a problem with the item the Chinese sellers are not willing to pay return shipping because return from the U.S. can be many times the worth of the item as they do not get a subsidy on the return.
For the ebay money back gurantee the buyer MUST send it back with online viewable tracking and I can assure you that the postage will be about as much as you paid for the radiator for ebay acceptable shipping.
Chinese sellers get funding subsidies from their government on items to the U.S. and can ship to you for pennies on the $ but YOU do not get this discount for a refund.
Do not purchase anything on ebay from China unless you can afford to just throw it away if there are problems.
If you are going to buy Chinese made items at least buy it from a local seller where you deal locally.
    Good luck, Jimmie

I’ve bought several for a few different applications, and never any problems. All welds are done very nicely. Can’t beat the price.

I'm sure good solid info....If the item ships from overseas anywhere to me, I search for other options.

My experience (w/China radiator) has been with a vendor based out of Los Angeles area as I prefer to stay where U.S. laws can somewhat protect or provide business guide lines. I know anybody can get screwed at anytime by anyone, but at least I'm dealing with a U.S. based dealer. So far I have had good luck with the radiators I have purchased, they are of good quality, nice looking and have performed flawlessly.
One problem us Kalifornian's have is the EPA has just about put repairing an old radiator out of business. Now days it's plastic tanks and gaskets, the old acid baths are gone and no real good viable, affordable way to clean an old core properly that I know of, maybe someone can educate me .
In my book that's what makes the price of these radiators attractive and brand new to boot.

I just put one of those in my car. Haven't driven with it yet, but seems like good quality and for $200, was hard not to consider.

  10. I believe you get what you pay for,I tried the aluminum radiators and wasn't happy with the product, the American made copper/brass radiator in my old beater is 30 years old and I haven't had any problems with it.

If I'm out on the road 500 miles away from home the last thing I want to do is have a problem with a cheap radiator I saved a few hundred dollars on.

BTW,My 32 coupe still has the original radiator , that's 86 years old and it is still working, that amazes me. HRP

On my '31 A, an older Ford Escort rad core (crossflow) stood up vertical worked. Had to learn how to ''solder" plastic & trim the tank ends, move an outlet. It worked out great.

My $200 Champion radiator box says "Made in the USA", but maybe they were referring to the box?
At any rate, it looks good with thick aluminum and is fully welded, was free shipping and has a lifetime warranty (which is probably useless). The instructions say it must be "professionally installed" to minimize vibrations. I'm going to paint it black. Gene

Here's my experience..for my kids and their friends...I've put in at least 10 AZ radiators..150 and less...never had an issue with them..trust me...I'd be swapping it again if it had an issue.

That said, I spent around 600 on an Al. Griffin for my '36 PU...ran into a fellow putting his "cheap" offshore Al radiator into his '39 PU...dang...his looked as good as mine.

So many may want to criticize cheap shit...but I wonder how much they could have saved?

Just light two C notes on fire.

Because the one I bought was just that. JUNK, Outta Square, the tabs were too short to mount on the stock holes, and didn't even fill up the Radiator Shell correctly.

But Hey that's just one guys experience.

Spend the $600+/- it might take to do it right. The Radiator is the lifeblood of the whole process. Heat kills everything.

Radiators get painted with thinned out paint, probably a dumb question, that's done with paint thinner right?

Some of Champions radiators are made in the U.S.
Their website clarifies that you can get a U.S. built one

I've had a radiator by Radman2776 on my Ebay watch list that fits my flathead engine in my A with 32 shell for quite a while. It runs about double what one of the Chinese ones do though. They are a store front operation and do make their own radiators https://www.cgj.com/

When I ordered mine I called them up and talked to the owner. Good people as we say in the south. I painted mine with the black radiator paint from Eastwood and it looks fine. My only issue is one that all aluminum radiators seem to have which is the lower outlets are higher than stock. It can make a real tight fit with a stock A chassis. (But what isn’t )

Put a Champion in my '29 a few years back. Worked fine, no overheating with the banger. Shell didn't line up great, but painted fins and tanks with black radiator paint and it looked ok. Be careful of the fins, they bend real easy.

  21. Yeah, never buy anything worth over $10 direct from China. I do my eBay searches for "US only". It shakes out the bottom feeders.

Can't complain about my Champion radiator. The welds are beautiful. Champion wanted $30 to polish a radiator, $30 to ship. I got mine shipped to me FREE on eBay and when it showed up, it was polished. The seller I used gave me more information (mounting pattern) than what Champion's site had to offer.

    This is who I used.
