Haven’t been making a great deal of progress lately, I have managed to chop my windscreen posts & get the cowl all welded together.

With these last pics I can definitely see you must have your hinges put together wrong. The front edge of the door is supposed to overlap the cowl band. The door isn't flush, and doesn't fit behind the cowl. It should overlap outside a quarter inch or more.

 

Hinges come assembled from brookville and mounted in the doors, but from memory I do recall that in the Vern tardel how to book that they said the lower hinges had to be pulled tighter with vice grips or of the like, I will see that I get the doors sitting right before properly pinning the rear quarters

When I assembled my roadster, the doors were the hardest part to get right. As a matter of fact they still aren't perfect.
The hinges are new and they needed to be pinched big time to get the doors close. The front of the doors are supposed to overlap the cowl as stated above. Then you have the fun part of shimming the cowl so the doors line up with the quarters. It took me a few hours each side, good luck and ask questions. We are here to help. . .

Thank you, getting everything sitting reasonably ok is a challenge. I tend to do everything by eye so good enough is good enough for me. I will definitely be pinching the lower hinges though.

Know anyone coming down from up there?

 

When I hung my doors (all Brookville parts) I had to weld up the holes in the cowl post end of the hinge and relocate them closer to the hinge pin to pull the front of the doors in enough to close the gap between the cowl post and the door. The gap was probably 1/2 inch and I was worried birds might fly in. Lookin' good keep going you'll get there...

 

Clamp the door to the a pillar with the hinges on :::tack the hinge on to the a pillar . Now you got it lapping I bet it will be low . Then shim your a pillar to line the door up to the quarter

I’m yet to tackle the doors, but thank you to everyone for the advise on how to do so.

triangle shaped on the left goes on the inside lower rear corner of the quarter...
others will need a '28-'29 roadster guy to identify them...

Been working on the floors lately, slowly getting there. Think I’m going to try tackle a flat floor rather than the kick up for the rumble. At this stage I won’t be putting anyone in the back anytime soon

The part in the last picture, one goes on each side of the rumble seat platform, to clear the kick up hump of a 32 ford frame

 

First Brookville body I saw all apart ('29-'29 A) looked like it would just 'fall together'. Then I helped a friend lay his out. "Easy as A.M.T.?" Not hardly.
I liked the use of the pseudo-wood assembly table. We used a 4' X 8' sheet of 3/4" plywood.
Cleco together, adjust, disassemble. Many times...The O.P. has an advantage with Flop and the notes and drawings... Still, no 'piece-o'-cake'! Kudos on work so far!

That actually makes sense. I’m guessing I’ve been sent the wrong bits then, my rumble seat platform has no sides, which I have always thought to be strange....

They suit a 32 Brookville frame for a Model A, they don't suit a stock 32 frame.

 

I’m running A on an A frame so they don’t suit mine!

Not much has been going on. I ended up working a deal with a panel beater friend to do the final alignment & paint for me to do some work on an old Harley of his.
Here’s some photos of the day the roadster left. And the before/current on the old sportster. Looking forward to getting the roadster back and starting the assembly!
