2 favorite HAMB Willys models...

The Willys models have been popular since the late 50s and early 60s. It started with the favorite 40-41 Willys Coupes and as the need for speed arose, other models popped up. Later on, the lighter weight, older Willys Coupes were selected and run all over the USA. Not to always mention the Price Transfer Automobilia Museum, but this place has the biggest collection of Willys cars known to be in one place. It ranges from backyard hot rod versions to full on race cars, to custom hot rod daily drivers. If you owned this collection, there is one for every day of the month to be driven on the street.

With the nostalgia movement still in full swing, these cars will continue to hold their value and be used for all sorts of builds. Whether from the ground up, pick and add parts, and refurbish older models, etc. there will be many ways to see new builds. This Automobilia Museum has pick ups, woody wagons, sedan deliveries, panel vans, coupes, convertibles, 2/4 door sedans, in the stock and hot rod configurations. But they can all be daily drivers in an instant, with the turn of the key.

But, we will all remember the classic front end of the 40-41 Willys models that has been burned into our minds forever.

What a line up of Willys cars and wagons, ready at a moment’s notice, to be taken out and driven to some local hot rod show and shine? A woody event, an antique car meet? Or even a hot rod drag race event? It would be nice to have the choices.

Ever wonder if that 3 car garage will fit your daily drivers, work space, and your hot rod? Here is a 100+ car set up to make those hard daily driver choices a lot more difficult. The Price Transfer Automobilia Museum is currently open for charity events only and the inaugural Lions Dragstrip museum opening a year ago. But there are new plans in the works.

It is a treasure trove of automobiles from the early Ford wagons to the latest in cool hot rods, including traditional vehicles. Once it is open to the public, it should be a place not to be missed on a tour of So Cal. But, until that time, the only way to see this fabulous, “throwback in time” is to attend one of the many charity/promotional events held here. Growing up/living in So Cal does have some advantages…

 

Some day I will get to see this place in person. I have seen several of the best before this one...and the two I enjoyed very much were Ron Ladley's, and Abe Suderman's...those collections were awesome. A good friend owned one of the cars in the pictures above, and I crawled around it many times when he owned it. I also have a good friend who has been there and has many pictures...its a Willys heaven ! Some day I will get to see it. g.willys
