Plus I didn't have to set my car up to the moon in the front to get it to pull the wheels lmao I had to put a 8 degree engine dump to keep it down the best I could lmao and just you wait that hemi won't have any trouble doin that just ask AJ if all goes well the ol hemi will run by the first of the week how close is that ford of yours lol

I can't wait to see and hear it run! Don't worry about me and my little 289, we are getting closer every day.

Actually the plan for the weekend is since the majority of chassis work is complete, we are ready to get the motor back on the stand and measure for push rods. Everything else is sitting on the shelf ready to assemble! When we are done we will take that Hemi of yours and turn it back into the boat anchor it was meant to be! LOL

Jackson, I don't know if you have ever heard this old saying or not but I think it might be apropos or at least an opportunity to talk some good trash: "Never bring an Elephant to Horse Race!" LMAO!!! Am I right Scott?

Anyone know of a reputable shop in N IL that installs/make roll bars that will pass NHRA tech/rules? Car interior is empty so I suppose it’s the best time to do it before I get all gung-ho and start building it. Plan on getting into the 11s(not right away obviously), so per rule book looks Like I don’t need more than that.

I got my kit from Rhodes Race Cars.....I don’t know if they do installation,or just sell kits, but the quality was pretty nice.

I just checked their page, and I don’t think they do installation.

  12. Chassis service in Wadsworth il. They build chassis and cages to Nhra specs regardless of how fast you want to go. They guarantee a passing certification. It's a good idea to go chromoly for weight savings. It's not that much more money.

Say what you want Randall but here is a real Chris craft cobra and it's powered by yep you guessed it a hemi as a lot of them were and this baby ain't no boat anchor it probly is using one of those ford motors for an anchor lmao

    IMG_0905.JPG

And one more thing I wouldn't think you have the upper hand if I were you cause Ryan has video footage of me and my dumpster built small block leaving your top dollar blown big block in the dust lol. Now I gotta run to the parts store to pick up my tech required tail light I'll make sure I mount it to the left side of the car so that as it's flashing you will know which way to turn onto the return road lmao

  14. My coupes engine was a originally a Chrysler marine hemi up until this winter. Nothing wrong with a mopar boat engine.

Maybe those boats do have ford motors in them. I mean you have to have a starter to spin them to life:)

Car’s wheels are OT but this guy and car seems legit with OEM dash and such. He drives it to the track and via ferry as well? And yup, it’s a Ford product with a clutch...

Scott I agree with Jackson there...I think I would stay away from
"dead" horses. How about an Impala!

    Impala.jpg
Or if you don't want to make James mad, how about this...

    Stingray.jpg
Neither one would be worth a damn to pull anything but
    wasn't that your point! LMAO!

Seeing mixed thoughts on this, lug length sticking out past lug nut.

What’s the rule of thumb for Meltdown?

Stud and nut engagement equal to the diameter of the stud or greater. Doesn't have to stick out. 1/2 stud needs a nut with 1/2" of threads or more. That's how I read it

That’s how a few others read it it as well. Was a little debate on a Comet group on FB a couple weeks back and. Thanks.

  28. The question to ask yourselves is do you really want to do 100mph plus with only 1/2 inch of thread engagement. I know I wouldn't. That's a disaster just waiting to happen.
