So in the past week,we’ve got the steering column out, master cylinder off, pedal assembly completely disassembled and removed from the car,old bushings knocked out, everything stripped off the motor to allow removal like wiring, grounds, fuel lines, carbs pulled and boxed up,rad saddle cut for access, along with 5 dozen other little things I’m forgetting about right now...
Tonight we got it ready to yank the motor/trans,but I didn’t want to dive into that at 9:30pm when the UPS guy hasn’t showed up with the clutch alignment tool yet,and the repair parts for the pedal assembly don’t arrive til tomorrow.
Called it a night, and going to watch some Meltdown videos on YouTube before I head for bed.
Hope you guys had a good day,and hope things are going well on all your projects.

    Scott

I’m running G-Force belts in my car,and they’re really high quality.
I think anything in the Summit or Jegs catalog that is a legit race car belt, and not a street-rod type belt will serve you well.
Ask Racer-X how important belts are....He’s had multiple encounters with immovable objects, and he’s still alive and kicking, and singing the praises of those Hammy motors that keep trying their darndest to send him for a dirt nap.

Fired up the Heapster from its winter slumber today. Ran like shit, barely limped into the service bay. I removed the dist.cap to find a even coat of rust on everything. Pulled distributor, cleaned and greased everything, reset timing and now she is ready for a good tune up and oil change. Will be race ready shortly. Ready to run in the "hot rod " class @ The greatest show on earth......Meltdown Drags 2018. midnight tune.JPG midnighttune2.JPG

It did a little better than 425@4,500 just though i'd use a realistic number for you Ford and Mopar guys to shoot for. Pull was on 110 octane gas.

Even a mediocre 347 should sling that Comet along pretty good.If that thing isn’t deep in the 12’s he better take up a new hobby....Maybe start helpin’ out with the Church bake sale or something...?

Quicker than 12.0 ET in 1/4 mile requires a 5 point belts and I think 11.49 and quicker a cage is required.
A cage will really help improve 60 ft.

Like a fart in the wind my friend. By the way...the blower pistons are awesome. Really much too pretty to go inside an engine. Should just frame them and hang'em on a wall. Thanks

Idk Personally I think a half track wheelie(no matter how high) is harder to accomplish than one from a dig?
