My dad died at age 53. I'm 67. You'll have to do the math...I forgot how.

  2. Well I'm in the 60/70 group, but I've been taking these recently
and I feel I could could drop back into the 20/30 group.
Who am I kidding....... the 30/40 group.
    Pass me those tablets again.

  5. You didn't forget how, it's that new math, like me, you don't know how.;)

  6. You know you are older than dirt, when you can go into a doctor's office, sneeze, and produce for the doctor all the biological samples he needs, nasal, urine, and fecal.
I will be 75 in July, and keeping a sense of humour in the face of adversity is very helpful.

I turned 70 last November and my blood pressure was getting a little higher so I had a stress test and it showed I had a little blockage in the RH side of my heart . So the next step was to get the heart catheter and it showed that I only had 10% blockage which is nothing the Doc said . It is good to know the condition of your heart because now I don't worry about the condition. The catheter was neat because they don't knock you out and you can watch it on the TV screen ! IF YOU ' WONDER ' GET CHECKED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now days, they can fix so much with your heart .

Damn most of you lot are old enough to be my grandfather or great gandfather. Well over twice my age.

Guessing most of you have kids/grandkids, greatgrandkids. They into old cars? or do they see them as heavy old death traps or say put the body on a new chassis & powerplant like most my old friends tell me? Or will the cars get sold off and the old maybe rare parts get binned or sent to the scrap metal guy?

Just trying to see where the scene will be going in 10-15 years time.

I will be 62 in Sept, if I make it that far.
My son (30-40 group) is into cars, he has a 57 Dodge wagon with a modern Hemi in it.
My daughter (also 30 - 40 group) is into cars as well, she has a 17 year old son that is also into cars. He has a 64 Chrysler New Port, and is buying a 78 Dodge 4x4. Us guys do swap meets and the whole family does a few car shows together.

Though none of our cars are HAMB traditional, we are all within the original traditional Hot Rod building family, take an old car and improve the handling, braking and suspension. Gene

Mentally, we are all young, just like when we got interested in cars and....girls!

No Lie, true story...maybe 8-10 years after my divorce..I'm at a swapmeet walking behind a young couple...well, I am thinking....."All those decades with my then wife, I never stared at someone else's cute butt, so Why NOT Now!!""... So, dammit, I just followed behind..um, er....her behind! It was better than a TEN!...Ok, I get to the end of that long row, I look up to see a really-really older guy staring at me with a smirk! ..and just for a micro second, I was embarrassed that he knew!! ..Then I confidently walk up to his truck window and proclaimed: "We see and think with the same eyes, same brain, as when we were that age, so what looked good to us then, looks just as good today! ..He said "NO WAY!!!...it looks EVEN BETTER! he is laughing bigtime at that point... :)...then he said, "it was pretty nice, wasn't it?" LMFAO!!

I’m not one of those. I don’t have dementia now and I’m not going to have it.
My mother is 88 and sharp as ever and my father is 86 and the same.
Both living independently on their own still.

I will be signing up for Medicare this year, but somehow I think my knees are about 15 years older than the rest of me. Dad passed at 89, Mom still going strong at 91 so I hope to keep on working on my cars
    for a while yet.

Sitting at a traffic light in my '37 Chevy truck with an older couple in their Lexus with grandchildren in the back seat sitting next to me. Driver yells across his wife to me "What year is that?" I responded "It's a '37" After a moment, he pointed at his wife and said "She's a '37 too but I like yours better." Then the light changed and I took off.

No blockages yet but I have congestive heart failure which didn't make me too happy to learn but it is a good thing to know about because there are steps you can take to extend your life. They used to give me those treadmill stress tests but now my mobility problems have gotten to the point that they do the chemical stress test which is kind of freaky.

Yeah the knees.. I just ordered those pills they sell on TV, where the guy looks about 80 but has a body like Lou Ferigno. If I end up changing a tire without a jack I'll post a pic.

No kidding there. Some 20 years back I got the bright idea of putting 60 candle on an 8" round cake for one of the guys at work. I didn't get a chance to light all the candles myself. The cake, I mean candles took charge of that on their own. But when I noticed all wasn't that out of control I laughed so hard as I walked with it to present it. :)
