DIE CAST TUESDAY - WEEKLY

Discussion in 'The Antiquated' started by edcodesign, Mar 28, 2017.

  1. I believe it was around 2008. There is literature from Fairfield Mint in the box.

  2. Here's a 1:20 C cab rail truck I built from a Hubley kit.

  4. I'd just like to say, Thanks {murphy32} {philo426} and to everyone else that shares your COOL toy cars on here. :) { Ed }, please chime in your opinion too, as this is your thread. But as this is a current, and weekly thread. I think pre -1965 Die Cast cars, and even ones made of other materials would be okay. But thats just, my opinion. We all Love the real Hot Rods, and some of us, the toy versions too. I like the Die cast cars, as they have made, and still make so many. I like the model cars, as you can be creative. I really like the R/C and slot cars, as they're just so much fun to play with! But my favorites, are still the old tin toy cars that I played with as a kid. I know there's older threads on toy cars too. But this one is every Tuesday, and kinda easy to remember.;) So Diecast only, or etc etc. ? Thanks Ron.... 492.jpg 237.jpg Lol 20170310_000918.jpg 20160126_042953.jpg

Hey Dean,I see that you put a Lionel O gauge truck on your T ,did you motorize it and make it a track inspection car?

...I didn't want to make waves. Maybe we should refer to it as "Car Toy Tuesday" ?? :D

  7. Yes, it has a small Swiss can motor and a driveline made from Nortwest Shortline components. It runs very well. The front truck is not Lionel. It is a 1:20 truck from a small ore car. I changed to the spoke wheels because I thought they fit the model better.

  8. Upon further investigation, it appears that the C cab was made by a company called Gearbox Models. The company was formed by a couple with ties to China. The business was doing well, then they got divorced, and dissolved the business. You can find this model on Ebay.

I found this Tootsietoy land rover at a church rummage sale for a quarter.Missing its roof and has paint chipping but it has that 70s vibe that I remember as a kid! 1524326147064-18971840.jpg

Wow...it is morning... I have been up all night finishing this one up....it's actually not done yet ..this is a shot of it before I sink it...that's the reason for the paint work on it .. I tried to make it look like it's been under water for awhile...well I will take a break then get the tank ready for the car and hopefully get it finished up and get it posted before days end...... 19. { RUDESTUDE } Cool, looks like your having fun with it. Sometimes I think I may be a bad influence on here. Lol { Ed } that's a cool roadster. I think it may be made by the Cor Cor co. It looks a lot like this old Cor Cor bus. I found it in a sand box of the grandson, of the original owner. I asked if he would sell it. He said yeah, hows about $10 bucks

If you have not read "
Tin Feathers, Wooden Trestles and Iron Men" You will really enjoy the history of the Galloping Goose.

  21. Have the book, an read it! Amazing the things they did trying to keep the RGS going.

  25. {TERRY}, that turned out VERY COOL!!!!:) 269.jpg 276.jpg 277.jpg But you will probably need a tank filter, or it won't last very long. I like seeing my old Chevys in the fish tank. You could also get some cheap and tough little Tetra fish too. This thread has been a lot of fun. I didn't realize how much junk I had, until I started posted on this thread. lol I can't remember what cars I've missed, or what I have already posted. So just keep posting FUN stuff guys. :) Thanks for another great Tuesday! Ron....

Thanks Ron...this one was just kind of a trial run then I was going to dis mantle it then do it again with a pump but now I think I'm going to just keep it this way and put a pump and fish in it... I know what you mean about posting things..all of my stuff has been all boxed up for a few years and I see something get posted and I think I have one of them ...then I will drag it out then out comes more stuff plus I'm always digging out my old magazines because everything I post like pictures in the different threads all comes from my own collections ... I don't down load from the internet and I also have a very large magazine ads collection also...stuff and more stuff...but it's all good....

  27. Good job. Very nice. You know, I kind of like the photos before the water cleared more. They have that dark, murky, bottom of a lake or river look to them. Keep up the good work. I'm still working on my pair of abused 3 window projects.
